REVIEW: Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Diagonal Fisheye

Professional photographer and expert reviewer checks out Sigma's classy fisheye optic A wide aperture diagonal fisheye for APS-C sensor cameras, which offers an angle of view of 180 degrees from corner to corner.

Excellent resolution when stopped down; Good resolution in the centre at f/2.8; Chromatic Aberrations kept to acceptable levels; Build Quality; Silent focus motor

Curved hood makes lens difficult to place down without lens caps

Sigma's Fisheye Duo; The Sigma 4.5mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM & 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM (Motor-In) Lenses

If you ever want a unique point of view try a "fisheye" lens. Like looking through a door peephole (which in fact is a "fisheye" type) this order of lens sacrifices linear correction in favor of a very wide angle of view.

The Hyper-Sonic Motor (HSM) not only makes the autofocus practically silent but it also means that Nikon D-SLRs without built-in motors can still use autofocus mode.

One of my "big boyzzz" lenses. Very creative and very strong optics. Beautiful finish....

very nice built; fantastic optics - very sharp and beautifull colours

a bit expensive; corner-cromatic-aberration

Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC Fisheye HSM review by billytompkins

At 2.8, 3.5, 5.6--lens goes soft--especially at 2.8--which is disappointing since I shoot live music that is dark most of the times. At F8--its great, but F8 is the exception not the norm of my shooting. Too bad. I had the first lens glass fall out and Sigma replaced right away.

at F8 or less--very sharp

at 2.8---focus is off

Although I have all Canon lenses and mostly L glass, I am over the top with this little gem. I love this Sigma 10mm! On my 1.6 body it will give me 162 degree angle of view. There is a filter in the rear of the lens which is very nice for adding ND filters when shooting slowmo water.

Very sharp; Will it distort? Hello! This is a Fisheye review

Cap lining is wearing out; :

Good for cropped Canons

I wasn't sure about this lens when I couldn't find conclusive reviews or samples for this lens, but I'm glad that I took a chance. It's sharp and slightly wider than the Tokina 10-17mm (did a side by side with a friend's Tokina).

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Easy To Clean; Rugged; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

CA in high contrast
