Shure MV7 Review

The Shure SM7B has a storied history—Quincy Jones used it for Michael Jackson’s vocals on , and Jack White, Jeff Tweedy, and Sheryl Crowe have all used it—as well as a relatively affordable price compared with other studio options. Its crisp, rich sound makes it ideal for radio/podcast and music vocals. So when Shure announced a hybrid XLR-USB microphone based on the SM7B design and geared toward podcasters, we were intrigued. The Shure MV7 costs $249 compared with the XLR-only SM7B’s $399, but it would be a mistake to consider them identical in build. The MV7 is reminiscent of the SM7B in its swivel-mount, front-address design, but is ultimately its own beast. If you want a high quality mic this is it you can't get any better for the price range! The build quality is amazing the sound is fantastic. Highly recommend to everyone

A great USB mic, but there are better options for XLR

If you intend to use this mic via USB, absolutely go for it. I have not found a dynamic mic with better quality for the price. Nice user interface with easy to use setting controls. ...view more

Shure MV7 review

The Shure MV7 is a capable dynamic microphone with great audio quality and support for both USB & XLR, plus compatibility with multiple platforms including iOS and Android make it a tempting option for those on the go. It's just a little on the expensive side, and you'll have to adjust to touch controls too.

This mic is so easy to use and really lifts the production value of any podcast you are making (and has lifted my zoom game too) Definitely recommend and now is the time to do it!
