I'm using these to listen to our TV; they are connected to the headphone out. I bought them to replace my failed Sony MDR-RF4000K, but I'm not too sure if it was worth it. Compared to Sony, I can't really say there is *any* improvement, maybe only when playing GT5 - Sony had a very weird problem...
Pros:
  • Sound fairly decent
Cons:
  • Cut out when input volume is low
  • cups are too shallow for my ears, manual switch on

Excellent

Very good sounding headphones. 3D logic is very balanced, not overpowering or sounding artificial. Bass boost has a very good balance without sounding boomy. There is absolutely no hiss during quiet passages, during music or movies. RS 170 is great for watching TV or movies.

I LOVE THESE! Crystal clear wonderful sound. Reception distance from the xmitter depends on the number of obstacles, walls, etc., between the headphones and the xmitter. Line-of-sight distance (80m, 260 ft)is farther than any other wireless headphone I have researched.

Sennheiser RS170 Digital Wireless Headphones – Reviewed

You may be wondering what a gaming website would be doing reviewing a non gaming headset but there is a method to our madness. For many years now Sony and Microsoft have not only produced two great consoles but also marketed them as not only gaming consoles but multi media hubs.

Wow!

Just purchased these wireless headphones for use with TV, not ham radio. They replace Radio Shack wireless headphones which stopped working and fell apart. (And were VERY uncomfortable). The RS-170 is a QUALITY product and works as advertised.
