Supercardioid dynamic microphone

The Sennheiser e906 is an affordable, supercardioid dynamic microphone tracing its ancestry back to the legendary, and now pricey, MD409. This compact, almost laughably shaped, microphone is deceptive--much like its forebearers and spin-offs there's a lot of sonic potential waiting to be unleashed.

"Sennheiser e906 Instrument Microphone, The Best Choice !!"

If yuor looking for that Mic that does everthing you want for your guitar cab , then this is the one . It has a three position switch that alters the frequencies so you can adjust the tonal properties directly from the mic .

Best over 57, MD421, EV ND/468, and almost the Sennheiser MD441U

This mic was the best of the litter. It is NOT the same as a 609, it is a different mic with a different cartridge and frequency range. This mic sounded best of all my mics on guitar cabs. Captured much more tone. If you are doing metal or thrash, you may not need the perfection this offers.

Nice Mike

This is a good little mike. I like the sound more than what the Shure 57 provides for electric guitar. It seems to have a flatter and more accurate tone curve, but less bottom than the 57. Placement is important.

Pure Reproduction

The Sennheiser e906 is the most accurate microphone I have ever used to mic my guitar cabinet. I became aware of these mics when the band starting getting some larger venues and quickly realized how mush better stage sound was. Up to then, I had used Shure 57s exclusively.

this is the one

I use these to mic all of my cabs. It get the job done superbly, but I must admit that I've never a/b'd it against the SM57. Works for close-in or ambient, live or studio.

Guitar Mic

Great mic, and beautiful sound. Pay the extra $$ for the 906 (rather than the 609), because it has three frequency positions (high boost, flat & high roll-off) so you can tweak your sound depending on the guitar amp, cab, wattage, style and venue you play. BTW...

great recording mic

Use ONLY for recording guitar amp. It is clear and balanced, has a switch to contour the high frequencies 3 positions , I usually leave in center . The hang over lay on grill placement method is definitely a great attribute.
