Good value for sure, seems to do the job, pretty much as fast as any other external mechanical HDD. Comes with some free 1 year of cloud storage, but I already have some. And also some free backup software, but it's pretty basic.

I’ve got a few of these drives now. These have been great as time-machine backup drives and a way to archive older data. Will keep buying these as I need them.
Having been burned once by Western Digital, I am exclusively using Seagate HDs now. I kept running out of space with my 1 TB drives, so I decided to go with a 4 GB for backups. It's very compact and I like the red color. Using it is plug and play. Comes with software for a range of functions like automatic backup. It's nice to have, but right now I am not using this feature. I just needed a straight HD with plenty of space, and this one delivers without breaking the bank.
I use this for a backup drive using the Toolkit software that Seagate provide, I have it set up for continuous back up which means as a file is changed and saved it gets backed up at the time so the system never gets overloaded and it doesn't slow down after the initial back up is completed.
Good compact drive. Plug and play. Been using for 2 weeks without any issues.
