Hard drive failed within 6 months
I bought two of these a couple of years back to use in a mirrored configuration. Both failed, one within a year and the second within two years, just now at time of review. Fortunately I was able to replace the first immediately to restore the mirror and also kept other backups...
Bought two of these for my NAS. They arrived in a timely manor and work great. These are bare, unformatted drives and don't come with hardware, but if you're looking for a solid drive and a good value, theses should certainly fit the bill. Very pleased.
This is excellent. It is just what I hope for, and it works extremely well. I have it on a very fast external connector hooked to my Mac Pro, and I use it to backup files when I want to reduce my storage.

Very fast drive; Large capacity; New SATA 3 interface
SATA 6G Deowsn't make much difference really
Now that motherboards with the Intel P55A Chipset are flooding the channels, it means USB 3.0 and SATA3 devices are going to become more popular. But, we're just now starting to see these peripherals leaking in to the market albeit very slowly and in limited quantities.
This isn't the drive that you'll choose only for storage, but more for Primary drive with a lot of space at the back. Unlike Western Digital where you will need an HBA, you'll use the utility to use the "unusable" space that remains behind during OS Installation.
This hdd was quick enough but the spinning must have been janky because it caused my case(s) to vibrate and make a lot of noise! I used this hard drive in multiple cases and had the same problem!
