As good as it gets in a portable. Only 2 negatives, fairly easily fixed. The wide AM bandwidth is specified at 6 KHz, but sounds like 4 KHz. Radiolabs has a Clearmod modification where they replace the wide filter with a 7 KHz filter. Sounds much better.

if you are looking for a top of the line, shortwave radio, buy this one. This has all the bells and whistles to satisfy a newcommer or even a veteran , i have owned alot of portable shortwave radios over the last 20+ years and this is the best yet.

It's easy to utilize it's many features as explained in the 30+ page manual. This will come in handy during those emergency situations without electricity.

It looks beautiful, however be warned the sensitivity is woeful ( the Tecsun PL 660 is far better) and if you use ordinary batteries ( not rechargeable) it eats them up. Would return if I could but it is past the return date.

This is a first rate portable SW Radio and should be seriously considered when shopping for world band receiver. My real problem is third party sellers turning Amazon.ca into a glorified dumping ground for overpriced product; and Amazon allowing it to happen.

Shortwave signal weak. work fine only with external antenna. finishing in the cabinet is regular,rf gain is low, not work properly.

audio quality is good,in general is a good radio,only shortwave has poor reception

High consumption of battery

The original Sangean radio was defective and had to be returned. Prompt and helpful service from Customer Sarvice made the experience better. This radio is one of the best portable AM/FM Shortwave radios on the market.
