As an IT specialist at my company, we use a dozen or so USB flash drives to secure certain files and documents. When purchasing USB flash drives for this purpose, there are a couple of features that I always look out for.

I had an older and gave it away to a friend and bought another but the new ones writes much slower. This is the first time Im disappointed with a sandisk product.

USB connector slides in and out; dont have to worry about losing the cap

Write speed peaks at 4mb/sec which is insanely slow for todays flash drives

Unlike the other reviewer I had no issues with the 8 GB Cruzer flash drive. If you click the protective cover into the open position before inserting it into USB there are no issues. Works quickly, had no computer issues recognizing it immediately was saving data to it.

As a media production student, I needed a flash drive with a lot of storage space to carry video files/transfer large files from one place to another; you won't need a 32GB USB stick if all you need is to store a few Word documents.

Plugging into the USB port always brings up a promotions page for Sandisk; which is annoying

Have used SanDisk USB drives and products exclusively for several years - until now. I purchased the 32GB Cruzer drive and used it for several months. Without warning, I found the drive to be write-protected.

Great capacity for the money, transfers files fairly fast though not as quick as the Kingston 32GB Ultimate G3. Even works faster on a USB 2.0 port than a USB 2 drive in that same USB 2 port.
One flaw is that the LED indicator light is VERY dim!

This flash drive is powerful. It's large capacity, coupled with the USB 3.0 connection speed, makes it ideal to back up my laptop. I love it!

Its retractable and that about it

Its as slow as dial-up internet; Starts off writing around 14 MByte/s for about a second then tapers off to 1-3 MByte/s; this is unacceptable; Then I tried to erase a movie and it said its write protected; also won't let me reformat because its write protected; Going back to Transcend drives.
