This is our first flat-screen TV for the living room. We have been watching a 27" Sony for a decade. This is such a leap forward for us! The picture is gorgeous and even the speakers don't sound that bad. How they do it is beyond me! This TV does everything!

Owner

I bought this TV from a competitor but wanted to chime in as I've owned it for several months. This is the top of the line for 2013 for Samsung, this is the best TV you can by that's not a 4K. Read it again, this is the Best TV you can buy before the 4K's come down in prices.
Pros:
  • Outstanding picture
  • excellent Smart options
  • easy to setup
  • plays mkv files over network without muxxing
Cons:
  • Remote control not that great
  • Sound and Hand gesturing not that great

Great Image Quality But Poor Web Browser

The image is bright, sharp. It is impressive. However, the web browsing is extremely slow and many web contents are not accessible. Basically this feature is useless. Other things else are great! So I give 4 stars rating.
Pros:
  • Best looking TV out there
  • Energy Efficient
  • Great Picture Quality
Cons:
  • Poor Internt Accesibility

Samsung UN55F8000BF Review

The Samsung UNF8000 series of LED backlit HDTVs offer solid performance and loads of features in a beautiful streamlined cabinet, but its black levels are mediocre and its ports are awkwardly placed. The Samsung UNF8000 series represents the company's flagship line of 1080p LED-backlit HDTVs, offering a well-balanced blend of style and performance. These sets, available in sizes from 46 to 75 inches, deliver a bright, uniform picture with excellent highlight detail and wide viewing angles. We reviewed the UN46F8000BF, a 46-inch model with a moderately high $1,899.99 (direct) price tag and lots of features like voice control, motion control, a webcam, and 3D support. Port access can be difficult when the set is hung on a wall, however, and black levels are not as dark as we've seen from similar midrange models like the Editors' Choice Panasonic TC-L55ET60 (and not anywhere near high-end plasma screens like Samsung's own PN60F8500). Design and FeaturesThe UN46F8000BF is a beautifully designed HDTV. The 1,920-by-1,080 panel sits inside a svelte cabinet that is only half an inch thick at the top and 1.25 inches thick at the bottom. The black bezels are only a quarter inch wide ...
Pros:
  • Slim, stylish design
  • Bright, detailed picture
  • Generous feature set
Cons:
  • Blacks could be darker
  • Ports are hard to reach
  • Motion commands are erratic

Samsung UN55F8000

We are amazed, and pleased , and learning. When they said smart TV I didn't realize they meant smarter than me. And I am really glad it is. So is my family. There is nothing left wanting on this set. We are more than happy with the results and the recommendations we received.
Pros:
  • Extraordinary picture, very acceptable sound
  • Though an inexpensive sound bar does improve movie listening
  • The WiFi connectivity works beautifully and a large variety of Apps
  • has us watching movies and TV series we had not watched when they were in season.
Cons:
  • None to speak of..
  • However, let me think...The picture is so good you'll never want to turn it off.I suppose that's a con
  • (chuckle)
  • So many applications and features you have a hard time choosing between them
  • I suppose that's a con.

Simple to use, excellent entertainment!

The 3-D is more than impressive. The "Smart" set is by far the best picture, sound and overall ease of set up and use of any of all of the electronics I have purchased over the years, I'm 64.
