Functionally wonderful speed, reliability, blah blah. In terms of design feel more premium with metal casing and more substantial size. However from practical stand point as a world traveler i much prefer the lighter smaller design of T1.
It died after one use, so I don't have much of an experience to share. I was definitely not satisfied, but assumed it was an outlier situation and moved on.
Works as it should, as expected. It is very fast. The fastest external hard drive I have ever had. Although a bit pricey, in the years to come the price will fall or the storage capacity will simply increase. I use it to transfer data between my iMac and my MacBook Pro.
I have had problems with 3 IOMEGA external hard drives. I use this one without encryption. It works and is fast. I wish the Quick Start Guide had larger print.
The price is way high. Technology is great but the price kills.
A superb piece of equipment. Well built in an aluminium case and the drive's cable connection has a very solid feel to it. (I'm always worried about these connections when constantly plugging/unplugging the drive.
Drive is really fast - Great for backing up large numbers of files. Build quality is superb, with a very solid feel to the drive>cable connection. As others have said, at this price I would expect a case and have therefore docked 1 star.
Conclusion The Samsung Portable SSD T3 is an excellent choice if you need to carry or copy a library's worth of data in a device that will fit in your front pants pocket. It is certainly pricey, but if you're a power user, you will want nothing less, especially if you need to work on 4K or HD video...
