Can a colossal new cover screen make what was an already fab foldable even better?
Pros:
- Sublime design and capable cover screen, Flagship-tier performance, Streamlined software makes good use of flip form factor
Cons:
- Cameras haven’t stepped up in a meaningful way, Battery life is just fine, and charging speeds could be better, No 128GB option means higher price barrier

With the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung has debuted a new larger cover display which makes it easier to handle notifications, check the weather, control media and more, without opening the phone.
Pros:
- Huge Cover Screen is a welcome addition, Still one of the few foldables rated at IPX8 for water resistance, Good battery life, Great software support from Samsung, Good camera, but a step down from other flagships, New hinge allows it to fold flat, no gap, Base storage doubled to 256GB
Cons:
- Not all apps run on the Flex Window, The crease is still fairly large, Still no telephoto camera

The thing is, even with those issues, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is genuinely still really exciting as far as phones go. Technically, it’s not the only clamshell Android 5G phone with a foldable screen in Australia, joining Motorola’s Razr 5G .
