Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Gold 40mm SM-R830NSDAXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 delivers automatic workout tracking and good battery life in a sleek design, making it one of the best fitness trackers you can buy. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 blows Wear OS watches away, and proves the company is serious about catching up with Apple.

Good battery life, Automatic workout-tracking, Offline Spotify storage, Gorgeous design, Works with iOS and Android

ECG feature not available at launch, Sleep-tracking needs some work, Limited apps

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Gold 40mm SM-R830NSDAXNZ review

As one of the market’s best alternatives to an Apple Watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is an excellent choice for Android users, or anyone looking for a feature-rich, fitness-focused smartwatch bursting with great health features.

Simple yet stylish design, Bright, clean display, Vibrant and engaging UI, Lots of customisation on offer, Better-than-expected battery life

Lack of third-party app support, UI could be more intuitive, Incremental upgrade over predecessor

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Gold 40mm SM-R830NSDAXNZ review

With practice, it soon becomes easy to use and is undoubtedly one of the most cutting-edge GPS watches on the market, with the modern, minimalist styling and features on offer going a long way to justify the price tag.

Slick design with unique navigation tools and a bright, crystal clear screen displaying distances and hole maps.

Green Undulation technology isn't widely available. Laborious setting up process.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Silver 40mm SM-R830NSSAXNZ review

While the original Watch Active felt like a first-generation product, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a product that proves Samsung is listening to user feedback. The touch-sensitive bezel really helps with the overall experience, and there's now LTE connectivity for those who need it.

Sleek; premium design Sharp AMOLED display Touch-enabled bezel for quick navigation Bluetooth + LTE variants for more flexibility ~2 day battery life Fantastic sleep tracking

No MST payments with Samsung Pay Tizen app ecosystem is still lacking compared to Wear OS Heart rate; GPS; and altimeter sensors can be wonky Setup process still needs work

The trouble with releasing a follow-up device so soon after the first is there may not be too much to shout about

Looks great; Digital bezel works well; Fantastic screen

Battery life could be better; Samsung Health isn’t great; Some menu items are hard to find

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Silver 40mm SM-R830NSSAXNZ review

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 LTE’s big USP is the 4G connectivity and the new touch-based bezel. At Rs 35,990 the watch is not exactly cheap, but if you want constant connectivity on your watch, then it is certainly more affordable than Apple ’s LTE Watches in the market.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 Silver 40mm SM-R830NSSAXNZ review

If you’re looking for a round smartwatch that does fitness and core smartwatch features well in equal measures, the second-gen Active is one smartwatch worth checking out.

Familiar sporty look with two size options; Comfortable to wear day and night; Touch bezel works well; Easy-to-use software; Decent fitness-tracking features

Software a bit clunky for sports tracking; ECG and Fall Detection not available yet; Battery life only slightly improved; Underwhelming app support remains; LTE model bumps up the price

Absolutely rubbish don't buy

Brought this watch on pre order and I can't stress how bad it was. When I first got the watch I was initially impressed by the features and functionality. Especially the the auto tracking heart rate monitor and the ability to answer calla and speak front the watch due to there now being a speaker...
