Samsung Galaxy S9 SM-G960F 64GB

The Samsung Galaxy S9, like all the new Samsung smartphones, is winning rave reviews, and rightly so! Some of the key features include:

Fantastic Low-light Photos

All of those rave reviews mention the S9's camera, particularly its ability to capture great low-light photos. This is thanks to the F1.5 aperture mode and multi frame noise reduction, so photos taken in a darker light come out bright and detailed. Another game-changing feature is the Dual Aperture lens which adapts, according to Samsung, like the human eye. This means the lens adjusts to various light levels and delivers optimum results in full sunshine or in the shadows of the evening.

A Big Screen In Your Hand

The 6.2-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy S9 appears bigger than it really is, thanks to its Infinity Display. Your content, including photos and videos, are taken to the limits of the phone. It's an edge-to-edge display that brings a touch of big screen, cinematic quality to the palm of your hand.

Surrounded By Sound

The S9 offers another cinematic experience beyond the visual realm. Dolby Atmos delivers three-dimensional sound, while the stereo speakers tuned by AKG further enhances the audio capabilities of this smartphone. The new speakers generate 40% higher volume than S8's speakers.

Ready For All Weathers

Unlike many smartphones, the Galaxy S9 can be used effectively and safely in less than ideal weather, thanks to its high IP68 rating so you can continue to send texts or take photos on that ground-breaking camera.

Smart Unlocking

Intelligent Scan is new to the Galaxy S9, combining face recognition and an iris scan for easy unlocking, even in low light.

Interior improvements

Samsung Galaxy S9 looks like the predecessor S8 from the outside except that the fingerprint sensor now resides below the camera. However, there are many improvements inside the shell. New features include cool new AI Emojis and a live translator (just point the camera at a sign or text and it translates the content instantly).

There are four colours to choose from: coral blue, midnight black, lilac purple and titanium grey. The Galaxy S9+ complements S9.

Junk

Bought as upgrade/replacement for s7 edge that broke while travelling in europe. Battery life sucks, narrower body is awkward to use, lack of home button makes it more difficult to operate. On the plus side, the camera is a big step up for low light pictures but it's poor value for money.

Fantastic!

Great phone, well done Samsung. Has everything you would expect from a Samsung smartphone and more. The pictures are exceptionally vivid and clear and the effects make even better photographs. Sound quality is a definite upgrade on my previous s7, the AKG in-ear headphones are very good quality.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Can you put a price on perfection

Just like the S8 before it, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is the best phone in the world, with lightning-fast performance, a stupendous camera and a lovely design. Unfortunately, it hasn't done enough to surpass its predecessor, which is still almost as impressive whilst being significantly cheaper.

The fastest Android phone we've ever seen; Amazing low-light camera; Slick features

Doesn't do enough to better last year's Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S9 – Review

After my time with the S9 I have to admit there is a lot to like, and a few things that could use a little improvement here or there. From the front, this looks exactly like the older model the S8, and some people will not like the fact their expensive new smartphone looks the same as their friends...

Samsung Galaxy S9 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

Yes, but only if you're in need of an upgrade. It’s hard to spend weeks with one of the best smartphones on the market and arrive at the conclusion that you feel somewhat indifferent about it, but I can’t help but feel that way at the moment.

Top-of-the-line camera, Long battery life, A breeze to use

Some unnecessary bloatware, Useless virtual assistant

Samsung Galaxy S9 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

The G7 ThinQ shares many of the S9’s features, including an expansive display, powerful processor and dual-lens camera with special low-light capturing capabilities. But we still don’t know the G7’s price and haven’t put the device through its paces on the Tom’s Guide suite of tests.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Not perfect, but still a stellar phone

Samsung's Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus were announced in late February and went on sale in the middle of March. Since that time, ZDNet's Matthew Miller reviewed the bigger Galaxy S9 Plus, proclaiming the device is "Android perfection achieved."

Fast; reliable performance; It has a headphone jack; Reliable camera

Battery life; Super Slo-Mo is good; but not great

Samsung Galaxy S9

The Galaxy S9 is both powerful and ergonomic, but there's no telling apart from the older Galaxy S8.

Compact and ergonomic; Bright low-light photos

Conservative performance; Poor battery

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is smaller than the Galaxy S9+, and that's a good thing. The single-camera setup at the rear keeps up on most counts with the dual-camera setup on the S9+. There's also less RAM on the Samsung Galaxy S9, but on the face of it that doesn't really matter.
