Samsung Galaxy S9 SM-G960F 64GB

The Samsung Galaxy S9, like all the new Samsung smartphones, is winning rave reviews, and rightly so! Some of the key features include:

Fantastic Low-light Photos

All of those rave reviews mention the S9's camera, particularly its ability to capture great low-light photos. This is thanks to the F1.5 aperture mode and multi frame noise reduction, so photos taken in a darker light come out bright and detailed. Another game-changing feature is the Dual Aperture lens which adapts, according to Samsung, like the human eye. This means the lens adjusts to various light levels and delivers optimum results in full sunshine or in the shadows of the evening.

A Big Screen In Your Hand

The 6.2-inch screen of the Samsung Galaxy S9 appears bigger than it really is, thanks to its Infinity Display. Your content, including photos and videos, are taken to the limits of the phone. It's an edge-to-edge display that brings a touch of big screen, cinematic quality to the palm of your hand.

Surrounded By Sound

The S9 offers another cinematic experience beyond the visual realm. Dolby Atmos delivers three-dimensional sound, while the stereo speakers tuned by AKG further enhances the audio capabilities of this smartphone. The new speakers generate 40% higher volume than S8's speakers.

Ready For All Weathers

Unlike many smartphones, the Galaxy S9 can be used effectively and safely in less than ideal weather, thanks to its high IP68 rating so you can continue to send texts or take photos on that ground-breaking camera.

Smart Unlocking

Intelligent Scan is new to the Galaxy S9, combining face recognition and an iris scan for easy unlocking, even in low light.

Interior improvements

Samsung Galaxy S9 looks like the predecessor S8 from the outside except that the fingerprint sensor now resides below the camera. However, there are many improvements inside the shell. New features include cool new AI Emojis and a live translator (just point the camera at a sign or text and it translates the content instantly).

There are four colours to choose from: coral blue, midnight black, lilac purple and titanium grey. The Galaxy S9+ complements S9.

No USB connector in box so can't be sure it's a new untampered box

The phone generally seems fine and as expected from a Samsung although battery life and motion detection/face recognition could be better. The box cane with a seal saying "European SIM only" and all the manuals are non-English. However the adaptor was UK which was weird.

Great Successor to the S8

I had the Galaxy S8 and the I-Phone 8 Plus and this phone is excellent for the most part. The battery life is good given I keep the display set on QHD. Why keep it on HD or FHD if the screen resolution is QHD I find that a charge does last me the day with adjustments to increase battery life.

QHD+ Display; Good Battery Life; on Standby; Keyboard input is fast; Dolby Atmos is Great sounding; AKG Earphones; Fingerprint Sensor Good; Camera is Great; Photos come out well

Speakerphone a bit low; Some Ringers are low in volume; Battery drains fast if screen stays on

Samsung Galaxy S9 review - "A worthy addition or a small iteration on the S8"

It may not be the revolutionary step-up that the S8 was, but the S9 is still the best Android smartphone you can buy at this moment in time

So far so good... but the bluetooth is questionable...

I upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to the S9. There is a lot to get used to but it is definitely an improvement. Except for the bluetooth. The bluetooth is inconsistent. It never automatically connects to my car like the S3 did. Often it takes several scans and selections before it connects.

If you're considering a move from iPhone, dont!

My review isnt fair as I'm sure an android user would think this phone is the bees knees. However I have always been an apple user and for many reasons thought it's time to try android. Ohhhhhhhh nooooooo. So hard! Settings for settings, then other settings in other apps.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: The Galaxy S10's arrival means a cheaper Galaxy S9 for you

Nearly a year later, the Galaxy S9 ($500 at Walmart) is still an excellent phone that delivers some of the best hardware, performance and photography of any handset you can buy today. But it's about to meet its replacement in the Galaxy S10 ($330 at Amazon), which Samsung will launch Feb. 20 in San Francisco.

The Galaxy S9 can still hold its own among 2019's smartphones, but wait for it to go on sale after the Galaxy S10 launch.

The Galaxy S9 once again proves Samsung's formula of a gorgeous 5.8-inch screen, sexy dual-curved design and terrific camera for well-lit shots can't go wrong; Whiplash-fast speeds, wireless charging and water resistance complete the package; And it looks stunning in purple and blue.

Low-light photos often look blurry and lack the fine texture and contrast of competing phone cameras; The Galaxy S9's camera frequently, accidentally switches between modes; 3D avatar software is tragically bad, and a new face-unlock tool is inherently insecure; The Galaxy S9 costs more than 2017's Galaxy S8.
