I was very hesitant at first, because I've had LG for a very long time, but I decided to make the switch to the galaxy S9. And I love it! Very easy to use, great camera, has pretty much everything I need. Glad I made the switch!
While it may not have been the company which started the trend - some would argue that honour falls to Xiaomi with its stunning Mi Mix - Samsung is arguably the firm that popularised the concept of a 'big screen' smartphone.
But ultimately, regardless if additional features are useful or not, they don't hurt the phone at all. You don't have to use them. With respect to these smartphones as a whole, we can easily say they're the best-rounded smartphones you can buy right now.

Last year Samsung didn't unveil a Galaxy smartphone at MWC 17, instead focusing on its manufacturing standards and unveiling the Galaxy S8 a couple of months later. The move proved a smart one, with the Galaxy S8 taking top spot in our books as the best phone of the year.
