The Samsung Galaxy S9+ is undoubtedly a good phone, if not a very good phone. While not a revolutionary upgrade, Samsung focused on minor improvements and many of these have led to a better smartphone than the Galaxy S8+. However at the same time, several areas of the Exynos model are disappointing.
- Attractive, improved design with lots of killer features
- Display is still excellent, despite no major upgrades
- Strong camera performance
- Disappointing performance and battery life from the Exynos model
- Glass construction remains fragile
- Galaxy S8 owners have no reason to upgrade
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: A dual-camera delight
Dual cameras come to Samsung's Galaxy S9 Plus, and they're reason enough to divert your gaze away from the regular Galaxy S9- Dual rear cameras for low-light photography
- Unrivalled performance
- Battery life isn't as good as last year's
- Very expensive
All of which brings this review of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus to a rather spongy, limp end. Don't get me wrong, I do like the S9 Plus. It's a great phone with two great cameras that shoot fabulous photos and video.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus
Improving on an already near-perfect phone was always going to be difficult for Samsung, but the Galaxy S9 Plus has fixed the select few problems we had with last year's Trusted Reviews Phone of the Year.- Feels great for a big phone
- The OLED display is great and highly customisable
- Numerous camera features on offer
- Iterative upgrade
- AR Emoji are just bad
- Some lag with Samsung's software
Galaxy S9 and S9+ Review: The Android Phones to Beat
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ improve upon the best Android phones of last year in several key ways, including performance, low-light photography and slow-motion video recording. The displays are also brighter than the S8 and S8+, while the stereo speakers are louder and you still get long battery life...
Review: Samsung Galaxy S9+
The Galaxy S9+, like its predecessor, is an excellent smartphone with a fabulous screen and great performance. It's also more power-efficient and can be charged all the way up to 100 per cent in around 80 minutes.- Gorgeous design and screen
- excellent camera
- blazing-fast performance
- Average battery life
- 'Intelligent Scan' is glitchy
- duplicate apps - and Bixby still needs work
Samsung Galaxy S9+ review: Inherits all the family genes
The S9+ is the new bully on the block: it's big, strong, and fast. But 2018 just started, so the Korean company's rivals will certainly not just let it rule the market. The Huawei P20's release is just around the corner and the Xperia XZ2 already has a lot up its sleeve to try and oust the Galaxy...- Best display in the world
- Excellent performance
- Dual camera
- Variable aperture in main camera
- Quick recharge
- 6GB of RAM
- Battery life
- Still runs on Android 8.0
- Iris Scanner and Face Unlock
Samsung Galaxy S9+ review: The best Android flagship, best camera too
Every year the Samsung Galaxy flagship is the most anticipated Android device. And Samsung does enough every year not to disappoint hardcore fans and to show direction to the rest of the industry. This year it has launched the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+.
Beautiful and smartly designed
Loving this phone so far. Upgraded from the Galaxy S6 edge and I'm really enjoying the quality of the screen, camera, and overall layout of this phone. I love the side panel for frequently used apps instead of having them covering the home screen.
Samsung Galaxy S9+ review: A disappointing fall from grace
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ should be the best phone of its generation, but a number of small grievances unite to diminish its appeal. It's technically capable, to be sure, but it's far from perfect.- Amazing screen
- Super powerful
- Fantastic camera for pros
- Average battery life
- Poor quality photos on auto
- Bixby is still annoying
