Samsung has made an effort to correct the mistakes in S6 Edge with just one form factor, bringing back the micro SD card support along with IP68 certification. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is one of those devices which excel in almost all areas including a great build, excellent display, superior...
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. Plus, the phone supports fast charging, though there's no USB-C here.
- + Stunning design
- + Big battery
- + MicroSD card slot
- - Too big for some
- - Drop in camera megapixels
- - Expensive
One of the most anticipated phones of the year was launched at MWC Barcelona. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge are an evolution from last year's Galaxy S6 line up. This time though, the S7 Edge is a larger phone as compared to the S7 with 5.5 inch SAMOLED Display compared to the 5.1 inch...
Review: Galaxy S7 edge is bigger and better\n
When you pull everything on offer in the Galaxy S7 edge together, it's pretty darn impressive. Don't let the physical similarities to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge turn you away - there is so much to like about this year's flagship.- Excellent screen
- Solid performance
- Great camera
- Waterproofing is a big bonus
- Pre-installed software still bothersome
- Back glass a fingerprint magnet
- Only 32GB models available
- Edge screen software not super useful
In this Age of Instagram, a great camera is one of the few reasons to pay $650 (roughly Rs. 43,500) or more for the latest smartphone, instead of $200 or $300 (roughly Rs. 13,400 or Rs. 20,100) for a budget phone that does texting, Facebook and Web surfing just as well.
There's little doubt that Samsung has been on to a good thing with its Galaxy range of smartphones. For a number of years now the Galaxy S range has been incredibly popular with consumers and reviewers alike, starting with the original Galaxy S in 2010 and most recently in 2015 with the Galaxy S6.
- Great battery life
- Amazing f/1.7 camera captures great photos effortlessly
- Fast & efficient Exynos processor with 4GB of RAM
- Water resistance and MicroSD support is back
- Wallet pain: These phones are very expensive, The Always On display is neat, but could be way more useful, The IR blaster is gone
- no more controlling the TV, MicroSD support is great, but there's no adoptable storage here
Samsung hasn't reinvented itself with the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but it has produced a pair of very fine handsets, even if Australia doesn't get the fastest possible models. Over at finder.com.au, I've reviewed both handsets prior to their 11 March official release.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
The S7 is a fine upgrade. Samsung has taken some of the more dearly missed features from the Galaxy S5 and integrated them into the Galaxy S7 while boosting the specs to the latest Qualcomm SoC.- The curved sides on the back make the device a little more comfortable to hold
- The S7 brings back all the advantages of water resistance with none of the negatives present in the S5
- The default app designs aren't bad
- but if you don't like them
- a trip to the theme store can change things up
- Gear...
- Glass is still fragile
- We'd prefer metal on the back, SD cards are better than ever with Android 6.0's adoptable storage, but Samsung killed the feature, No always-on "OK Google" support.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Expert Review
The phones look and feel fantastic, and that wasn't something we could truthfully say about a Samsung phone 18 months ago. It also seems Samsung have listened to some of the criticisms levelled at the S6 , and done their best to resolve them.
Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE review
How do you define perfection? When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge , we were stunned. At first, because it looked so much like their 2015 flagship devices, but later because of how amazing these devices were as smartphones.
