Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 EDGE Review: First Look

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 EDGE are now official and this is our first look at the two devices. But were they worth the wait?

Excellent Design; Awesome Display; Brilliant Camera; Great Battery Life; TouchWiz Still Needs Work But Is A LOT Better Than Before

No MicroSD; Battery Is No Longer Removable; Fingerprint Scanner, While Improved, Still Struggles Too Much

Galaxy S6 Edge

THE GALAXY S6 EDGE will be seen by many as an expensive gimmick given that it's over £100 more expensive than the regular Galaxy S6 , while others will see it as Samsung pushing the boundaries of design, and trumping its rivals by bringing something new to the smartphone market.

"Real experience"

Feel and Look I feel excited that I can finally get a phone that nearly suits my liking. First, I believe that this is the best Smartphone that has been made to date. It is so much better than the standard Samsung Galaxy 6 and other Smartphone's I have used.

high perfomance; useful for business

low battery

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

For years consumers and experts complained about Samsung's continued use of cheap plastic for their smartphones and unnecessary bloatware. With the Galaxy S6 Edge , Samsung has finally updated the design of their smartphones.

Incredibly sharp and vibrant display; Curved edges make areas of screen easier to reach; Improved Touchwiz has less bloatware; Smooth and slick performance

Glass back and edges make it difficult to grasp; No microSD slot

Great Phone

Just upgraded from an iPhone. Have to say, I was debating between the S6 Edge and Blackberry Priv. While both phones offer awesome features, the S6 Edge offers a superior experience and greater internal specs that really allows for a greater user-interface experience.

Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge reviewed

Flat phones are so passé, it seems, with the Galaxy S6 Edge showing us a future of curved smartphone goodness. Is this a taste of the future, or merely a gimmick demanding top dollar?

A design that looks totally different; because no one has curved screens like this; Curved screen is very cool; Built with premium materials; Great performance; Like the S6; an absolutely fantastic and bright screen; One of the best cameras in the business; Practically bloat-free version of Android,...

Battery could be better and isn't removable; No expandable memory; Water-resistance not part of the package; Curved screen doesn't really feel as useful as it did on the Note Edge; Expensive… very expensive

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge review: Return to Glory

A new breed of Galaxy flagship has gone on sale with the S6 Edge. It is the first smartphone in the world to have its screen curve on both sides, introducing some features of note as a result and redefining what was previously possible in smartphone design.

Curved 577ppi display; Near stock Android; Powerful computing innards; 16 megapixel camera; Long lasting battery life; Improved finger scanner

No support for expandable memory; Priced at a premium

REVIEW: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Will This Smartphone Get Samsung Back On Top?

Now Samsung is peddling an elegant new smartphone that has been designed from the ground up, hence the name project Zero. Right now a lot is hanging on the fate of the new Galaxy S6 and S 6 Edge and if the stares I have been getting are anything to go by Samsung has a lot going for it especially...

The battery should be bigger but if it was the design of the device would go out the door; Much has been written about the lack of microSD card support and the now-fixed in place battery.

With the Galaxy S6, Samsung's created something very special. With the Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung's created something very pretty, but substantially less special. Over at the ABC's Technology+Games site, I've written up a rather exhaustive (and exhausting) review of both. So go and read it. Now?
