Galaxy S6 Edge review: Innovative, impressive -- and impractical

Let this serve as a lesson: Looks can be deceiving. Samsung has introduced two new phones in its Galaxy line, and it's interesting to compare the two. Samsung's Galaxy S6 is a gorgeous phone that's both beautiful and brimming with top-notch technology. It really is an impressive device.
Pros:
  • Striking and distinctive
  • technologically impressive
Cons:
  • More expensive than regular Galaxy S6
  • sloped screen makes text, images and videos harder to view
  • tapping and typing can be awkward and unnatural
  • Edge-specific features not particularly useful
  • narrower frame makes phone harder to hold

Samsung's Galaxy S6 is a fantastic smartphone . But maybe you find it boring. Maybe it's disappointing that the new Android standard-bearer looks so much like an Apple product. If that's the case, perhaps the Galaxy S6 Edge is more your speed.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge review: the best Android phone on the planet right now

If you haven't had a Samsung phone for a while, you're probably a bit wary of the S6. Rest assured, things have improved considerably . There is far less bloatware than we're used to, and TouchWiz has transformed from a badly-named, badly-designed UI to something that mostly gets out of the way of...

Samsung needed to come up with something special this year with its hero smartphone – the Galaxy S6 – and not only has done that it also released a second device – the Galaxy S6 edge. The feature that sets the device apart is the curved left and right edges of the screen.

REVIEW: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Will This Smartphone Get Samsung Back On Top?

Now Samsung is peddling an elegant new smartphone that has been designed from the ground up, hence the name project Zero. Right now a lot is hanging on the fate of the new Galaxy S6 and S 6 Edge and if the stares I have been getting are anything to go by Samsung has a lot going for it especially...
Cons:
  • The battery should be bigger but if it was the design of the device would go out the door
  • Much has been written about the lack of microSD card support and the now-fixed in place battery.

After years of disliking Samsung phones on the whole and having to find things I liked about them, the Galaxy S6 has reversed my opinions. I like the Galaxy S6, so much so that I would buy one with my own money if the need arose.

Ultimately, Samsung decided to play it safe and offer two different versions of its Galaxy S6 flagship; one with the new curved screen and one without. This is one time when we're actually happy that the company has launched multiple similar models - this way, all users aren't forced into using (and...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge review

Design is probably the most important factor to consider if you're thinking of buying the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It's those curved edges that make it stand out and that make it so mind-bogglingly expensive. Samsung has purposefully created an object of desire, in part to prove that it can.
Pros:
  • Unique design
  • Supreme performance
  • Stunning screen
  • Excellent camera
Cons:
  • Monstrously huge price tag
  • Lack of functionality down the edges
  • Unimpressive battery life
