Samsung Galaxy S4 review

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is now two and a half years old, and not only was it replaced by the Korean firm's 2014 flagship offering, the Galaxy S5 , but the Samsung Galaxy S6 has also been on the market since March this year. That means that the Galaxy S4 is now feeling a little long in the tooth.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Review

Last year, I had few final words: "Buy the Galaxy S3, as there isn't a better phone on the market." This year, the scenario is complicated by the entrance of the HTC One and a few mystifying design choices by Samsung.
Pros:
  • - Beautiful
  • high-resolution screen with improved colour accuracy over previous models
  • - Excellent camera quality and lots of opportunity for tinkering
  • - Many of the new features like Air Gesture
  • S Health and WatchOn are well received and useful
  • - Impressively compact for 5-inch device
  • -
Cons:
  • - Low-light photo quality is lower than competition
  • - Build quality still below that of the HTC One and iPhone 5
  • - Comes with nearly half of its 16GB storage already in use out of the box
  • - Many features like Air View and Smart Scroll feel underdeveloped
  • - Emphasis on using Samsung-branded

  • Display
  • Everyday usage
  • Call quality
  • Gorilla Glass 3
  • UI is user friendly
  • Removable Battery
Cons:
  • Build quality (not have anything metal

Best Of The Best

I loved my Galaxy S4 16GB 4G LTE the very moment I laid eyes on it. It just does everything, including things I can't even think of. The battery life is awesome when used properly. Love the Show Health app. It's been stated that this device has over a million sensors.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 in-depth review -

Look and feel Slim and sleek. Although the plastic build doesn't scream 'premium', but it keeps the phone light and it still looks gorgeous and feels great in the hand. Ease of Use One of the most fluid uses of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean we have seen yet, and the changes to Samsung's TouchWiz interface...
Pros:
  • Enlarged and improved screen
  • innovative features
  • great camera
  • strong battery life
Cons:
  • Sheer number of options can be overwhelming
  • design is not wildly different to the S III
  • plastic body is off-putting to some

Samsung Galaxy S4 review

You'd think Samsung's gameplan for this year would be pretty simple after shifting more than 50 million Galaxy S3s . Make last year's stonkingly successful phone slightly bigger and slightly better, sell bucketloads, then kick back and blow raspberries at the competition until 2014 rolls around.
Pros:
  • Gutsy and powerful
  • Lush screen
Cons:
  • Underwhelming design
  • New gestures a bit gimmicky
