Hands on: Samsung Galaxy S22 review
The Samsung Galaxy S22 is a hair smaller than its predecessor, and the cameras are slightly tweaked, but the changes begin and end there. It's a fine phone, especially for people who like small-body compact mobiles, but it's hard to get excited for the device.
Pros:
- Compact, hand-friendly size
- Good-looking display
Cons:
- Limited upgrades over S21
- Small battery and slow charging

At a time when Google is battling non-stop bugs plaguing the Pixel 6 series , the Galaxy S22 shines. Samsung took a tried and true design, packed in the latest flagship processor, and made an Android smartphone that I could recommend to almost anyone. But, unfortunately, it’s not perfect.
Pros:
- Best-in-class performance, Premium hardware, Fantastic cameras
Cons:
- Battery life could be better, Slower wired charging, No Wi-Fi 6E or UWB

The Samsung Galaxy S22 sets the bar for what a flagship phone ought to be with outstanding build quality, one of the best displays of its kind and superb performance paired with an excellent rear camera array.
Pros:
- Superb 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Outstanding build quality and design, Excellent cameras, Smooth performance, 5 years of security updates

So should you buy the Galaxy S22? It's a solid entry — it's compact, it's powerful, it has a great camera. And it has the promise of long support and updates, and it doesn't hurt that the phone itself looks very good.
Pros:
- Awesome display, Compact-ish, Good haptics, Good camera, OneUI is all grown up and fleshed out
Cons:
- Not a huge improvement over S21, Battery life is a bit weak, Speakers need improvement

For those that want more size and performance there are the S22 Plus and S22 Ultra options too. But for a do-it-all option that doesn’t break the bank, the S22 is a valiant contender for Android flagship standing against the Apple iPhone 13 competition.

Small flagship. The 6.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S22 is the smallest and most affordable model in the new Galaxy S22 series. Despite the smaller size, it offers the same high-end SoC performance as its more expensive cousins and is almost on par in terms of features.
Pros:
- high quality workmanship, compact size, accurate GPS, long timeframe for updates, good camera, very bright AMOLED display, high system performance

- throttling under load, no power supply included, charging with a maximum of 25 watts
