Amazing!

This has been the best purchase I've made.. I moved from Apple recently to Samsung. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has everything, it's easier to contact family and friends - I feel like I have more freedom with this device and no barriers restricting me. Playing video games and videos had never been this good on mobile! The S21 Ultra knocked it out of the park with customisation options you have. I am very happy with this device and what's to come in the future of mobile phones.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

Despite the obvious missed opportunity that is excluding the S-Pen, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a nice and big phone that feels like it’s made to reward long-time Samsung owners.
Pros:
  • Great feeling: slick yet well made, Lovely screen, Excellent performance, Fast 5G, Water resistant, Wireless charging, Supports Galaxy Note pens, making it kind of like a Note with the heart of an S21
Cons:
  • Battery life can be hit and miss, Camera is good, but doesn't beat the iPhone 12 Pro Max, Camera can be slow to respond at times and deliver soft images, S-Pen doesn't come with the phone, despite supporting it, Expensive

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

While not perfect, I think the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is pretty close. It’s missing some features that I’ve grown accustomed to with my previous phones, mainly expandable storage, and an AUX jack, but I believe the additions make up for the subtractions.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

So all in all, yes, we do feel that the Enhanced Game Booster did bring some improvements to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. As mentioned, the RAM allocation and processing speed directed to some mobile games proved useful.

Great overall, but let down by the camera

I upgraded to the S21 Ultra from a Note9. I was looking for a phone with a similar size and weight, but with much better camera features. I don't know if this is a software issue, but there are often times with the S21 Ultra where the camera simply does not focus, which is infuriating when trying to capture a candid moment. I never experienced that with the Note9. I've also found that a lot of indoor pics at even 3.0x are splotchy and not at all sharp. Before you ask, yes I did remove the film from the camera lenses after unboxing. I haven't changed the camera settings from the default, so maybe that is where the problem lies.

Great phone, great price

I love the new phone, still working out the features but very happy with the phone. Great deal with Telstra pushed me into buying it.

Great phone with some serious flaws.

The design of the phone is great and there is a lot to like in regards to the screen, camera's 5G etc, however all of this is let down by the battery performance. The marketing of this phone says it has a battery that can last 24 hours, well that is certainly not the case for me. I am luck to make 10 hours and see me through a single working day. This doesn't appear to be the same for everyone as some people online are reporting up to 2 days battery life however it seams pretty hit and miss and Samsung appear to not care if you have any battery life issues.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra is more affordable than last year’s flagship, has more cameras, and adds an S Pen: on paper, at least, what’s not to love? Setting the bar for smartphones in 2021, the daddy of the currently three-strong Galaxy S21 family promises more of that monstrously effective Samsung...
Pros:
  • Fantastic 120Hz display makes no resolution compromise, 108MP camera is capable of great photos, More affordable than last year's flagship phone, Potent performance and long battery life, S Pen functionality is a welcome addition from Galaxy Note
Cons:
  • No microSD, no Samsung Pay MST, and slower charging than the S20 Ultra, 100x Space Zoom still feels like a gimmick, S Pen implementation feels half-hearted

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a no-holds-barred uber-flagship with sizeable proportions and a high price, but for your money, you get the most uncompromisingly capable smartphone on the market right now

  • Best camera phone to date, Excellent performance, Lighter than expected, Great battery life, Beautiful display
Cons:
  • No charger may irk some, Loss of microSD slot, It’s big, Price
