Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review
2020 is the year of big phone families, and Samsung’s Galaxy S20 Series is nearing Brady Bunch numbers. Latest to arrive is the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, described as the “Fan Edition” but also the most affordable of the line-up.- Most affordable of the S20 family, Excellent 120Hz display, Cameras are capable of great shots, Solid battery life and performance
- Plastic body betrays the cost-cutting, Low light camera performance isn't the best
Great phone!
Very happy with this phone. Considering the specs that are often only found in much more expensive models it is excellent value for money, It looks great, feels really good in the hand and has a nice weight to it, it performs and functions flawlessly and copes with multitasking seamlessly. The screen is super and the sound/speakers are really good. I don’t use my phone for gaming nor do I watch many videos but I use it for navigation, communication obviously including email and internet in general and I find the battery very decent, lasting well over a day, even on 120hz. Obviously there are lots of specs and functions I haven’t covered but I like it a lot and no regrets whatsoever.

When the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G was announced, I have to admit I was confused. I wasn’t sure what this device was all about and where it fits into the already crowded Samsung mobile space.- Very nice design, I like that the screen isn't curved and the display is flat, Nice build quality even with glastic, Good software experience, Good performance, Very good camera for this price range, Great battery life, Outstanding value for feature set
- Speakers aren't great, Camera's low light performance isn't the best
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review
The success of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was always going to be dependent on the pricing. At Rs 49,999 and even lower if you snare the right deals. In a way, this will become the new entry point to the Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone line-up. And a very good one at that.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is close to being the perfect combination of specifications and price.- Really nice screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, good build quality and matte back, good all-round camera, high performance and generally you get alot for your money.
- The screen resolution is not as high as on the other models in the Galaxy S20 series. Comes with only 15 watt charger in the box, although 25 watt charging is supported.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review
Praise be to the mighty Samsung, for it has heard our pleas of “ good freakin’ grief, phones are getting too expensive .” In its infinite wisdom, it hath remade the Galaxy S20, flagship from earlier in 2020, with slightly cheaper materials and components.- Flagship hardware, Almost no compromise on features, Big, beautiful screen, Solid battery life
- Phone's a little big for my taste, Deep camera bump, Camera downgrade versus S20
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G isn’t a cheap phone, costing $699 / £699 (or £599 for the 4G version, available in the UK). However, it’s still a great value option for anyone who wants all the power of the Galaxy S20 without its sky-high price.- Great cameras for the price, Fast performance, Fantastic display
- Plastic feel, Samsung’s UI is heavy, Doesn’t ship with fast charger
Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition Snapdragon - Cloud Navy SM-G780GZBDXNZ review
Galaxy S20 FE has added an extra level of excitement to this year’s Samsung flagship – from finally bringing a Snapdragon processor to the device in the UK to adding a bunch of vibrant colour options. There’s tough competition from OnePlus 8T and Pixel 5 but the S20 FE is ready for the fight.
Poor battery life and screen issues
Great phone on paper however the phone does not live up to expectations. I am struggling to get through a full day with basic use (web browsing, social media, emails) with 5G turned off, bluetooth off, wfh so wifi connection. Battery is full depleted by the end of every day and then top up again in the morning after more battery drain overnight (so 2 charges per day). Also experience the phantom touch screen issues which are being widely reported from many users
Best value for money.
This phone is hands down the best value phone money can buy. It has everything you need in a phone for such a low price. The 120hz screen is unmatched and I can go back to 60hz now. The screen overall is very good and is a beautiful 6.5 inch oled. Speakers are loud and very clear. It also has IP68 water and dust resistance which is a really nice bonus. Along with NFC and wireless and reverse wireless charging which are flagship features are on this phone. Also the 5G capabilities is nice future proofing and the 865 processor is fantastic. Cameras are also brilliant if that's what you look out for. Overall, everything about this phone screams flagship and you get that all for an incredibly low price!
