  • 4.27 inch screen
  • 8.5 mm body - enough said

Samsung Galaxy S II in-depth review -

Unlike bottles of wine, mobile phones sadly don't get better with age. As technology progresses, handsets that were deemed groundbreaking become dated and even tiresome. Pros:
  • The dual-core processor keeps everything ticking over at a frighteningly fast rate
Cons:
  • The lack of a physical dedicated camera key means you may miss that spontaneous shot

When Samsung Galaxy S II was demoed at MWC in February, we couldn't believe what we were seeing. An Android phone running Gingerbread, 8.5mm thick, Super AMOLED Plus screen, running a dual-core processor? Is this real life? Fast forward half a year, and we have this phone in our hands.

The Samsung Galaxy SII brings some very big guns to the dual-core wars. Read our review to see why this phone is so highly regarded. We recently looked at Motorola's Atrix smartphone and said that we were interested in seeing how the other soon-to-arrive dual-core offerings would stack up.

Review: Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch is the smartphone equivalent of a runway model. It's gorgeous to look at. It's a bit larger than life, yet still maintains a trim figure. And it has a name so long you need to take a gulp of air when you're done speaking.
Pros:
  • The 1.2 GHz dual-core processor provides standout performance - apps open and close quickly, transitions are smooth and gameplay is great
  • One of the better smartphone cameras
  • Big screen is fantastic for games and videos
Cons:
  • Battery life is a drag
  • Onscreen keyboard is difficult to type on in portrait mode
  • Will go in a pocket, but doesn't exactly "fit" in a pocket
  • Badly in need of a nickname
