It seems like consumers have a relatively short memory. It was a little over a year ago that everybody was taking pot shots at Samsung following its Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. After the release of the Galaxy S8 , all the jokes were quickly replaced by awe and wonder.

Samsung has again launched a superb product with the Galaxy Note 8 and there is no real alternative phablet for fans of the S Pen. The handset comes with an outstanding configuration. However, the manufacturer could have gladly been a bit more generous with the internal storage in view of the price.

The Note 8 has a bigger (and notchless) screen, but this means it's a bigger and bulkier device; both phones have good screen-to-body ratios, with minimal bezels.The Note's screen is also sharper, but both are fabulously sharp as it is and we don't think you'd notice much difference in practice.
When CRN USA reviewed Samsung's Galaxy S8 Plus in the spring, we described the device as the ultimate smartphone for multitaskers. But Samsung has now one-upped itself with the debut of the Galaxy Note 8 , which ships 15 September.
