iPhone X vs Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Clash of the flagships

The Note 8 has a bigger (and notchless) screen, but this means it's a bigger and bulkier device; both phones have good screen-to-body ratios, with minimal bezels. The Note's screen is also sharper, but both are fabulously sharp as it is and we don't think you'd notice much difference in practice.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review

Both beauty and the beast, the gorgeous Note 8 has an extraordinary feature set and magnificent performance. It's expensive, but can you really afford not to consider it? Find out what we made of Samsung's brand-new flagship, which is now on sale.

Being Samsung's flagship-tier device, the Galaxy Note8 is armed with an Exynos 8895 SoC, ARM Mali-G7 GPU, and 6GB of RAM. This combo should mean that the Note8 crunches numbers very well.

Inarguably beautiful; Powerful enough to run most tasks smoothly; Rear camera setup is good; IP68 S Pen allows for underwater doodling; Plenty of biometric locks

Fingerprint sensor is poorly positioned; Sets a new high for smartphone prices

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F Smartphone 64GB Midnight Black - 2 Years Warranty

The phone is fast, responsive, intuitive, love the stylus and it's features. However I have to charge it a couple of times a day to make sure it doesn't go flat with frequent usage. As long as you have a charger handy, this is an amazing phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review: a greatest hits package from the godfather of phablets

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 feels like a greatest hits for the Note series. It has every feature that made previous Notes worth buying and slams them into the new Samsung smartphone design ushered in by the Galaxy S8, but as a consequence doesn't feel particularly new or innovative compared to...

great battery; impressive screen; water resistant; great camera; great stylus; microSD card slot; wireless charging

only Android 7.0; no USB-PD; fingerprint scanner placement awkward; expensive; very big for pockets

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Review: The King of Phablets RETURNS

A really excellent phone. The best Galaxy Note yet, with a superb camera, battery, display, and fantastic performance. It is also the best stylus-based phone to date.

Huge and gorgeous display; appealing design aesthetic and solid build; BEST stylus experience on a phone; Excellent battery life; Excellent camera; Solid performance

Massive and perhaps somewhat unwieldy; expensive

This phone is outstanding!

Outstanding display and form. Buttery smooth action and very fast processor, even though this is the Exynos variant. Don't buy the clear view LED cover with this, as it no longer seems to have software support yet.

Ideal

I bought this device a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it considering what I use it for. I was also happy with the service and advice Tesco provided me with given past issues with another seller.

When CRN USA reviewed Samsung's Galaxy S8 Plus in the spring, we described the device as the ultimate smartphone for multitaskers. But Samsung has now one-upped itself with the debut of the Galaxy Note 8 , which ships 15 September.
