Samsung are often credited with starting the "big phone" trend. I remember reading about the first Galaxy Note when it was announced; it seemed ludicrous. I mean, who would ever want a phone with a 5.3-inch screen?

Lets set the record straight; the Note 4 isn't as revolutionary as we've seen before and may even be a small disappointment to the most critical of Android users. But what it's however is a small improvement in nearly area of the device.

The Galaxy Note 4 is a bit of a handful and is rather expensive but lovers of the Galaxy Note range will likely be enamoured with this edition. It is, on the whole, a great device with plenty of power and features. As long as you're aware that you're buying a huge phone and will get the most out of what it offers. Otherwise a smaller and cheaper handset is probably a better choice – the Galaxy S5 or one of its rivals.

The Galaxy Note 4 is by far one of the best phablets that we have seen and combines high-end hardware with a feature rich UI. It also features some welcome changes in the design department and the Super AMOLED display just leaves us wanting for more.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 gets an 8.9 out of 10 for design, a 9.6 out of 10 for hardware and a 9.8 out of 10 for OS and UI from us. The final grade is 9.43 out of 10 and while the design of the device is not elegant, the hardware is truly impressive, aside from the night time camera.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the latest heavyweight to enter then growing "phablet" market which now has fierce rival Apple in the opposite corner. But the good news for Samsung is the Galaxy Note 4 is the culmination of four years of work in this larger screen space.
