Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: Coming Back to Life

So, the Galaxy M series is definitely a good move by Samsung! The things that I like about the M20 is the battery life, USB type C with fast charging and its bright and color accurate IPS display. However, what Samsung could have done better are the camera performance and the choice of SoC.

Superb battery life; Good display; Type C and fast charging

Old chipset; Average front and back cameras; Inaccurate Facial recognition

It's taken Samsung a while but the new Galaxy M20 is the company's answer to Xiaomi's Redmi Note 6 Pro and the Honor 10 Lite . Presented as a one-two punch to entry, mid-level competition, the phone is part of Samsung's new M series of smartphones that have been designed to cater to a younger...

Stunning battery life Display looks great Competitive performance

Camera needs improvement Back of the phone looks unimpressive

Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: The Renewed Challenge to Take on Xiaomi Starts Off Well

Last year was truly unique for Samsung. The smartphone giant was wading through murky waters. It was unchartered territory for a company that has more often than not set the benchmark in the Android smartphone space.

Unlike some of its current competitors, Samsung has immense brand power. A lot of people might have chosen other options recently based on specifications and features, so having closed that gap, Samsung stands to regain a lot of the customers it has lost.

Samsung has launched a new Galaxy M series in India and we have the Galaxy M20 that lies in the midrange segment. The Galaxy M20 has higher specs as compared to the Galaxy M10 which is an entry-level budget smartphone launched alongside. Here's our hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy M20.

Samsung Galaxy M20 64GB

Does a new design, large battery and a segment-first wide-angle camera ensure the Samsung Galaxy M20's value for your money

Bright; vibrant display; Only smartphone to offer a wide-angle camera in this price range; 5000mAh battery and USB-C with fast charging

Struggles with stable performance; Not adequate for gaming; Shows ads on the lockscreen

Samsung launched the new Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones in the new ‘M Series' in India last week. Here we have the review of the M20 smartphone, which is the bigger version of the two packing a large 6.3-inch Full HD+ screen and a huge 5000mAh battery with fast charging.

Large 6.3-inch FHD+ display with minimal bezels; Brilliant battery life; Decent performance for the price; USB Type-C with fast charging; Dedicated Dual SIM and microSD Slots

Average low-light camera performance; Plastic back is prone to scratches

The Samsung Galaxy M20 is a definite improvement over the previous Galaxy On series and Galaxy J series smartphones that we have seen. It shows that Samsung is willing to move towards making better phones for the budget segment, even though it has not reached there yet.

Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: Buy This or Wait for Redmi Note 7

The Galaxy M series is Samsung's attempt at taking over the reigns from Xiaomi when it comes to the budget smartphone segment, with the M20 being the flag bearer of this attempt. So, does the Galaxy M20 succeed, or is it a failed attempt That's what we are here to find out.

Really nice display; Great battery life; USB Type-C charging; Interesting wide-angle camera

Plain; functional design; Performance is a mixed bag; Ads in Experience UI; Bad photos in low light; No support for 5Ghz Wi-Fi
