Samsung Galaxy J3 review: The Galaxy J3 is one of the lesser publicised and more affordable offerings in Samsung's 2016 lineup, but is it worth picking up or best left alone? Spearheaded by the likes of 2014's Galaxy Alpha , Samsung has been striving for a more premium look and feel across its...

Samsung Galaxy J3 (AT&T)

The J3 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Samsung's TouchWiz UI layer on top. App icons are different from stock Android, the app drawer has been moved to the bottom right corner of the screen, the notification shade has been altered, and the settings menu is almost entirely different.

Affordable; Long battery life; Latest Android software; Rich, bright display; Expandable storage and removable battery

Subpar call quality; Mediocre camera; Significant bloatware

Samsung has been paying attention to both sides of the scale, keeping a balance in its craft of making smartphones. Though I won't call it the Buddha's middle way of living (we'll keep that for the new A-series) but it certainly has paid off the company in maintaining its top position ( read report...

Display - HD and Outdoor Mode The Samsung Galaxy J3 has a 5" Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Wake up the screen on this phone and compare it to another brand's and it becomes quickly apparent that the J3 has one of the brightest and most colour vivid displays around.

Samsung Galaxy J3 2016

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is a top buy. Costing a little over £100, this is a smartly-styled superslim phone with a high-definition 5 inch AMOLED screen that outperforms any rival at this price.

For that sort of money you'll find other phones that can do some aspects better, but few that are as good all-rounders, particularly if you're sticking to big name brands.

+ Great screen; + Low price; + Decent performance

- Plastic build; - Few standout features; - Little built in storage

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Review

Priced at Rs 8990, does the Samsung Galaxy J3 make sense to buy? The market is offering a plethora of devices which have better specs than the Galaxy J3, but the area where J3 shines is the after sales service and warranty of Samsung which is probably missing on many online-only players.

The all-new S Bike mode feature of the Galaxy J3 (6) is based around the core idea that two-wheeler riders should not be distracted by incoming calls. Once the feature is activated, a caller trying to reach the Galaxy J3 (6) owner will be notified through an automated answering system called "Smart...
