The new Galaxy Beam is a good successor to the previous Beam. The phone is sleek even though there is a projector. The projection is bright, and there are several features in the projector app. Since the 3.5mm audio jack is at the side, you can plug-in an external speaker while you project a video.
Pros:
- Built-in Pico Projector
- 2000 mAh battery with additional battery pack
- Hot swappable SIM card and microSD
Cons:
- Runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread
- Doesn't come with a prjector stand

Samsung Galaxy Beam – easily one of the most unique smartphones you'll see this year
The hardware features of the Galaxy Beam aren't exactly top of the line, but it's not the most mediocre smartphone, either. There's a dual core NovaThor U8500 processor under the hood, with 768 MB of RAM and 8 GB of built in storage space, so you've got more than enough basic specs to run any apps.

Review Samsung Galaxy Beam (GT-I8530) Smartphone
Noise Emissions Usually, Smartphones and tablets are silent in this section, and they only make noises when the user wants them to. The Samsung Galaxy Beam is somewhat of an exception.

This handset is actually a combination of the Galaxy S Advance and the DLP LED Pico projector. But how good the combination works out, let's find out. Samsung Galaxy Beam is not the first projector phone in India. Many Indian brands like Intex and Spice have tried it with their feature phones.
Pros:
- Good performance
- Display and camera
- Very good projector
- Excellent battery life
Cons:
- Projector application need some refinement
- Inclusion of projector increases cost Slightly bulky

Here at CHIP Malaysia, we love to see creative and unusual ideas come to life, even if they serve little purpose aside from just surprising us for a few moments. The Samsung GALAXY Beam is one such product, and after seeing a prototype of it in action several months back at the Samsung SEA Forum,...
Pros:
- Novel idea with projector
- Good phone performance
Cons:
- Runs Android Gingerbread out of the box

Samsung Galaxy Beam review: stay for the projector, but nothing more
There's definitely some excitement to be had when reviewing a device so out of the ordinary, but we found it a little difficult to make a final judgment call. The Galaxy Beam does well at what it claims to be good at (projecting media), but it's otherwise mediocre at best.
Pros:
- Projector works well
- Excellent battery life
- Solid and sturdy build
Cons:
- Runs on obsolete build of Android
- Low-end specs don't match professional needs

The issue is that most online trade-in programs will alter the payout amount after you have sent in your phone without giving you a choice. At www.smartphonecashin.com if you disagree with the payout amount, they will send you your phone back at no cost to you if prefer it.

Samsung GALAXY Beam
The Samsung Galaxy Beam confirms once more that technology has advanced a lot. And that Samsung is as clever as ever. This projector they included on the smartphone is a neat idea. It certainly makes things fresh. If you plan on buying the device just for that, you're free to do so.

We thank ' ' for smoothly providing us with a testing sample. A look inside reveals: the Galaxy Beam is not quite up to date. Being powered by a dual-core processor with 1 GHz per CPU, 768 MB RAM, Android 2.3.6 and a 4.0" display at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, it can't quite compete with top...
Pros:
- innovative idea
- with a decent implementation
- two batteries + docking station
- long battery life
- sturdy workmanship
Cons:
- "old" Android 2.3
- mid-range hardware
