My husband has this phone and he hates it. He has lived with it for a couple of months and finds it complicated and not user friendly. I have tried to help him with the issues, but I even find it difficult. With the Iphone 4, I have no problem usually.
Now (Jan '14) well past its prime now -- note its plummeting price -- clearly the price of $150 for a current purchase is "fair" - any more is not, but still (a) it's not a good phone for "rooting", due to its NZ version of the Samsung OS; (b) while it has some nice hardware features, for...
This was my first android phone and it was the worst experience I ever had. Android market was zooming and I decided to give it a try. Samsung being the leader in this race and a trusted product worldwide, I decided to buy this product.
I have had the Galaxy ace 2 now for just under a week and am already growing increasingly frustrated with it. Most of the features are great (in particular the swype method of texting), and the format of the applications etc is fine.
A compact, easy to use smartphone with most mod cons
Good size screen and clear display; easy to use; Android OS
Camera could be better; small memory
This is a pretty good phone it's not the best phone out there but it's decent. Apps work good except big apps sometimes lag like jetpack joyride but for the price it's a good phone. The calling quality is really good.
The original Ace was a very decent phone for its bucks last year, and the Ace 2 is quite on the way to cover that ground this year as well. It has a decent size screen with good resolution, slightly underclocked yet dual-core processor, and 5MP cam with flash plus a front-facing camera.
Excellent call quality; Easy one-hand operation
Camera is very slow to focus; Only about 1GB of user-available memory
Adding to its expansive collection of Galaxy-branded, Android-filled smartphones, Samsung has reignited its Galaxy Ace sub-franchise with the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 tackling the space between the collection of dedicated entry-level and mid-market handsets.
intuitive; friendly UI; impressive 5MP camera; zippy dual-core CPU; attractive; strong build
Android 2.3 not 4.0; speaker placement; Samsung Apps offering; limited browser
If you're in the market for a new pay as you go blower, and have less than £200 to spend, the Ace 2 is an excellent all-rounder. It has a decent amount of power, a clear screen and audio that's easy on the ear.
Dual-core chip; Takes good photos; MicroSD card slot
Android Gingerbread not Ice Cream Sandwich; Camera is slightly laggy
