As part of our migration plan away from network Three ("the network designed for data" – just not in West London!), and it being a rather significant ‘zero' birthday of my wife's, I bought her another phone so that she'd be free to take up ‘SIM-only' deals at the end of her contract.
Hi-spec for the price.
Plasticky
The Ace 2 comes loaded with Gingerbread 2.3.6, and Samsung have promised an update to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. This phone can easily handle the upgrade when it comes, with its dual-core 800MHz cpu and quad-core graphics chip.
Attractive Design; Big Buttons; Brilliant Display; Easy Navigation; Good Interface w/email; Great Battery Life; Great OS; QWERTY Keypad
It not lighting fast response but then it not sluggish either, just about right, (if you you really want a top of the range processor you will need to spend a lot more).
If you're about to buy a mid-range phone, then you'll more than likely be glad of the help from sites such as Pocket-lint, because it is, without doubt, the most confusing part of the market.
Decent price; sturdy; responsive; good battery life
Average camera; very limited internal storage
Surprisingly at this price, there's plenty on offer from the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. The touchscreen is a great size for surfing, texting and emailing, the five-megapixel snapper is impressive for a budget handset, and the dual-core chip handles most apps and games well.
Smooth TouchWiz UI; powerful budget chip; good-sized touch-screen; impressive five-megapixel snapper
Outdated version of Android
The Galaxy Ace 2 has a friendly UI, but is prone to lagging somewhat. Even browsing can be slow on both 100Mb Wifi and normal 3G. Still a very good phone with everything you can expect from a decent smartphone; voice control, good camera/video, etc.
Good camera; Integrates Apps Well; Easy to use
Laggy On Jellybean; Slow Browsing
I bought this phone for my daughter, I cannot stress how great this phone is! Its easy to use, excellent camera, long battery life and short charging time, and great for searching the internet. After a few weeks of having the phone, the phones charger stopped working.
What more can I say. it fits on the phone. It is a soft gel case and works as advertised.
Samsung's Galaxy Ace 2 packs a lot of value considering its low asking price. The dual-core processor can ably handle apps and games, the larger-than-standard 3.8-inch touch-screen is great for texting, emailing and browsing the web, and the five-megapixel camera is a strong budget offering
Smooth TouchWiz interface; powerful budget processor; responsive and spacious touch-screen; decent five-megapixel camera
