The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 for T-mobile is a light, sharp, 4G-enabled tablet with unfortunate Wi-Fi issues.
Affordable tablet with 4G, Small and light, Bright, sharp screen
Poor Wi-Fi connectivity, Tinny speakers, Sometimes sluggish performance

The Samsung Galaxy A8 is a slight step down from the Galaxy S9 - or even the Galaxy S8 - in just about every way, but it still delivers many of the core features offered by the flagships. You can get more for your money elsewhere, but if you're set on Samsung there's little to complain about here.
Super-vivid OLED screen, Quality build, Excellent water resistance
Low light photos could be better, No 4K video recording, You’ll find better value elsewhere
It’s at the upper end of pricing for a mid-ranger, and that makes phones like the OnePlus 5T closer competitors than Samsung might like, but it still vastly undercuts most flagships while out-performing most mid-range phones.
+ Great Super AMOLED screen, + Dual-lens front camera, + Premium, water-resistant design
- Middling power, - Average battery, - Doesn't run latest software
With a dual front-facing camera and an edge-to-edge screen, Samsung’s Galaxy A8 sets its sights on the OnePlus 6
Bezel-less design, Pixel perfect display, Long-lasting battery life
Same price as the (better) OnePlus 6
The Galaxy A8 is still a good buy if you want an affordable phone with decent specs, and don't mind it being a little old. It's a sort of Galaxy S9 mini so will be attractive to those looking for a cheaper Samsung handset. There are some strong mid-range rivals though.
You’d be forgiven for thinking the Samsung Galaxy A8 is the successor to the Galaxy A7. The Galaxy S series follows a straightforward sequential pattern, where S9 follows S8, and so on – but unfortunately the A series is not quite as simple as that.
I really am enjoying this phone. The camera has to be my favorite part of the phone, it's crystal clear. The phone is thin a weightless when I hold it. The battery life is good too
The Samsung Galaxy A8s is the first smartphone from Samsung to come with display-O screen, which houses the front facing camera sensor. It is also the first of all Sammy smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, and the first to run on Google Android 9.0 Pie.
Is the latest addition to the Galaxy A series worth your money? We find out, in this Samsung Galaxy A8 review!...
Got this for my 97 year old Dad so he could check out and listen to audio books from the library. Works flawlessly and he was able to figure out all the functions for borrowing books using the Libby app, connecting to blue tooth ear buds, and using email, internet, etc.
