Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is a mid-range device designed for Samsung fans who are not quite prepared to spend their money on S- or Note-series smartphones, but still want a device that can perform when needed.

Usually good target exposure on face in indoor and outdoor conditions; Pretty good detail when image is well focused; Low noise levels on faces when shooting in bright light; Wide dynamic range; Generally pleasant skin tones; Good detail in outdoor and indoor conditions; Well-controlled noise in...

White balance casts in outdoor images; Some exposure instabilities in high-contrast scenes; Strong noise and loss of detail in low light; Halo and; ghosting; artifacts; No blur gradient; Inefficient stabilization system; Occasionally low target exposure in bright light and indoors; Target exposure...

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

Samsung's A-series continues to impress on software, features, and connectivity

About an hour to charge from dead, Flagship-like in-hand feel and design, Anti-fingerprint coloration and design; 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display, Responsive, bright display, 5G support works as expected, Bluetooth 5.0, Performance feels like a flagship, Flagship software-side features only...

Less than impressive battery drain; Plastic construction; Night Mode camera isn't great by any stretch; Slow fingerprint scanner; Camera is often better with scene optimizer turned off

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

We highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy A71 especially if you are looking for a more premium phone but doesn’t want to spend as much as buying a flagship. It has a great screen, great build, good cameras, stable videos, decent battery life and also support for Android 10 and its next version.

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

Samsung's one of the biggest smartphone players around, and while we drool over cutting-edge devices like the Note20 or Fold2, these luxury handsets are hardly its primary business.

Display Big, bright, colorful, and I don't even mind the punch-out; Endurance Between the 4,500mAh battery and the efficient Snapdragon chip, you shouldn't be running out of juice anytime soon; Cameras Even without a telephoto option, the A71 easily takes some pretty nice shots.

Durability Plastic body scratches easily, no IP rating so don't get this wet; Charging No wireless charging support; Speaker I love having an analog headphone jack, but with a speaker this underwhelming, I hate how much you need it.

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

The Galaxy A71 offers most of what's great about flagship Samsung phones for a lower price. Unless top-of-the-line features and specs are absolutely needed, this is arguably the perfect Android smartphone for most people, as it should check the necessary boxes for all but the most hardcore Android...

Beautiful design; Vibrant Super AMOLED display; Smooth performance; Solid battery life; Plenty of good camera options

Disappointing speaker; No wireless charging; No water resistance

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

The second of Samsung’s two new Galaxy A series phones, the Samsung Galaxy A71 aims to offer to offer the desirable trinity of features for aspiring phone owners – a large and vibrant screen, a good camera and, as they are wont to put it, awesome battery life.

Samsung Galaxy A71 review: Hands-on

The A71’s appeal will depend heavily on price, but if it’s similar to the A70 then Samsung will be onto a winner. The core spec here is really solid, and the compromises - plastic back, HD display, no wireless charging or waterproofing - are all on points that are less important to most users. If you can ignore the appeal of the S-series branding on the S10 Lite, the A71 looks like the phone to beat in Samsung’s mid-tier offering.

Samsung Galaxy A71 - Prism Crush Black SM-A715FZKDVNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy A71 offers a cheaper path to 5G service if that’s important to you, but otherwise it’s only a decent $600 phone. For hundreds less, the Pixel 4a and iPhone SE are better in almost every respect, save for battery life, while the OnePlus Nord is a much more well-rounded sub-$500 5G...

Good battery life, Solid performance, 5G support, Big OLED display

Tons of bloatware, Cameras are just decent, No wireless charging, Frustrating fingerprints sensor, A bit pricey for what it is
