Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

4.0
Pros: Consistent, fast read and write speeds, Cheaper than 850 Pro, Decent warranty
Cons: 850 Pro drive is faster still, Lesser endurance rating, No extras included
Verdict: Samsung is a market leaders when it comes to SSD performance, and its flagship 850 Pro ratcheted the bar even higher. It offered stonking speed, and provided ample evidence that controlling the research, development and production of a drive provides the best results.

Samsung 850 Evo M.2 review: good things come in small packages

Pros: Pretty fast, Super tiny
Cons: Not the fastest, Limited to SATA speeds
Verdict: Today we're looking at the M.2 version of Samsung's popular 850 Evo SSD. We've already benchmarked the 2.5-inch 840 Evo and 850 Evo , so we're curious to see how this smaller form factor shapes up. Thanks to Samsung, we've got our hands on a unit to serve in our XSR test rig, so let's take a look!

Samsung SSD 850 Evo 2TB Review

4.2
Pros: Highest capacity consumer SSD available, performance is consistent with and often a tad faster than the 500GB 850 Evo, pricing is fair
Cons: Fair doesn't mean inexpensive and if you're on a budget, two of Samsung's 1TB SSDs are a tad cheaper than one of the 2TB models
Verdict: The first SSD I used day to day in my main PC was the Intel X25-M and despite being an eye-watering $4.87 per gigabyte, the 80GB model was a bargain at $390 considering the SLC X25-E was selling for almost twice that in a miniscule 64GB capacity.

Samsung SSD 850 Evo 2TB

Verdict: Today we have the latest model from the Samsung SSD 850 Evo on hand, the mouth-watering 2TB model. Previously the 850 Evo range extended to a 1TB model but for those that find that simply wasn't enough, Samsung has doubled the capacity and in the process created what is by far the largest capacity...

Samsung 850 EVO Review

Pros: + RAPID Technology, + 3D V-NAND, + 5 year warranty, + 6.8mm Height
Verdict: When we sampled the previous generation 840 EVO from SAMSUNG we were very impressed. It was reasonably priced, had good encryption qualities and in stock format was also a very fast drive. Add RAPID technology and the drive became a performance beast.

Samsung 850 EVO 120GB and 500GB RAID and RAPID Review - VNAND Goes TLC

Verdict: The 2.5" SATA versions of the 850 EVO will be available 'later this month (December)', with M.2 and mSATA versions coming 'next year'. The 840 EVO was a great launch and sold very well, but Samsung did not rest on their laurels.

Samsung 850 EVO 2TB review

4.0
Verdict: SSDs continue to drop in price, to the point that there's little excuse not to have one in your PC or laptop, but storage capacity remains a concern. Most SATA SSDs top out at 1TB, so you'll almost definitely need to add a second traditional hard disk if you want to guarantee you won't run out of...

Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SATA SSD Review

Verdict: The M.2 socket first appeared a couple of years ago and the market has been slow to take it up in force. Samsung 850 Evo SSD: Australian Review

4.0
Pros: Excellent performance, Great warranty conditions, Great bundled Magician software
Cons: More expensive than competitors, Competition also from cheaper high-end drives, Magician only on Windows
Verdict: Sometimes, even if you're only spending a small amount of money, it's worth shelling out that little bit more and getting yourself a superior piece of technology. That edict is very much true when it comes to getting a new solid state drive for your PC, actually.

Pros: TurboWrite cache accelerates esp. smaller models, Supports Microsoft eDrive (encryption, Very good everyday performance, Five-year warranty
Cons: Loss of performance under extreme load
Verdict: Faster, significantly increased longevity and at the same time lower production costs. These three seemingly contradicting aspects are what Samsung are said to have succeeded with 3D V-NAND.

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 120GB Solid State Drive

Pros: Equipped with 3-bit 3D V-NAND, Available in 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities, Features RAPID mode and TurboWrite technology, Excellent sequential read and write speeds under most conditions, Good random read performance, Performs equally well with compressible and incompressible data, Good...
Cons: Mediocre random write performance, RAPID mode is Windows only
Verdict: TRIM Performance: While SSDs offer many benefits, there are some downsides to using flash memory. One of the biggest issues people run into is performance degradation. Over time, an SSD will run out of fresh blocks and will have to write over data the file system has marked as deleted.

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD Review

Pros: - Build Quality / Endurance (150TBW / 1 Million Hours MTBF, - Excellent Overall Performance, - Features (TurboWrite/RAPID Mode/eDrive Support, - Samsung Magician Software, - 5 Year Warranty, - Available In 1TB
Cons: - Price (For Some
Verdict: After we reviewed the 850 Pro 512GB model and heard that Samsung would also send us the 850 EVO 500GB we thought that there would be a sufficient performance gap between those two to "justify" both the different target areas and the difference in price.

Pros: This drive is everything you have heard
Cons: None. Well, maybe that its price-point seems to have stalled I bought it at a great price, and this product's price is pretty stable
