Samsung SSD 850 Evo 2TB

Today we have the latest model from the Samsung SSD 850 Evo on hand, the mouth-watering 2TB model. Previously the 850 Evo range extended to a 1TB model but for those that find that simply wasn't enough, Samsung has doubled the capacity and in the process created what is by far the largest capacity...

Samsung SSD 850 Evo 2TB Review

The first SSD I used day to day in my main PC was the Intel X25-M and despite being an eye-watering $4.87 per gigabyte, the 80GB model was a bargain at $390 considering the SLC X25-E was selling for almost twice that in a miniscule 64GB capacity.
Pros:
  • Highest capacity consumer SSD available
  • performance is consistent with and often a tad faster than the 500GB 850 Evo
  • pricing is fair
Cons:
  • Fair doesn't mean inexpensive and if you're on a budget
  • two of Samsung's 1TB SSDs are a tad cheaper than one of the 2TB models

Not As Easy As One Thinks

I bought this Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5" SATA III Internal Solid State Drive to add to my existing Intel SSDSA2CW 160G3ATA which stores all my programs including Windows, and is running out of space.
Pros:
  • Attractive Design
  • Compact
  • Quiet
Cons:
  • Difficult To Use

Excellent drive

I love the Samsung range of drives and needed some extra space. Opted for this one and installed without issue and the Samsung software is very good. Drive performance is good and I'm already considering adding another one in the near future.

Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E500BW 500GB, 3D V-NAND, SATA III 6GB/s, R/W(Max) 540MB/s/520MB/s, 98K/90K IOPS, 2.5". 7mm, 5 Years Warranty

This SSD drive is fantastic, it's made my 3 year old Vaio like a rocket compared to before. General startup time, app start, file access is fast. Best thing was to easy app that mirrors over the old drive to the new drive, now install issues at all.

Good performance

I bought this for my Macbook Pro (early 2011) as it was really struggling with updating to the new OS systems without sacrificing speed. It was easy to install the new HD and the improvement in speed is really noticeable. Well worth the money for the upgrade.

After purchasing the 250gb Samsung 850 EVO drive for a new Laptop, I decided to upgrade the primary system drive in my aging Mac Pro 3,1 tower. While the main drive slots do not support the full read/write speed of the drive, I purchased a PCI card that allows the drive to reach full speed and act...

Great SSD for a reasonable price

I wanted to upgrade the hard disk of my laptop so I decided to get an SSD instead of a normal hard drive. After upgrading to SSD my laptop is much faster and everything loads quickly.
