Ryze Tello

Even from our brief time with the Ryze Tello, we can tell its going to be one of the best drones of 2018 with a ton of smarts and surprisingly ample performance for its small size.

Incredibly affordable and fun; Phone-based POV mode; Motion-controlled flying still makes you feel like a Jedi

Light enough to be carried away by a breeze; Not designed to be flown outside

Probably best $100 Beginners Drone you can buy. Video needs

This could be classified as a toy drone, but it could also be classified very realistically as a "beginner's drone" too, since it handles SO similarly to a Spark or Mavic Pro. If you own a larger drone and one a little for-fun flyer, this will feel very at-home.

DJI Tello: The Cutest Little Drone Ever, and Only $99

Tello is quite possible the cutest drone we've ever flown. There's no reason not to buy it, what are you waiting for

Ryze Tello review

If you’re in the market for a toy drone, you should stop reading now and buy the Ryze Tello. For £100, you’re simply not going to find a better option. I can imagine gadget-lovers of all ages having tonnes of fun with the various flight modes, somersaults and 720p video recording. That something this small can zip around for 13 minutes at a time is also great. If there’s a problem, it’s that the DJI-powered Tello is so proud of its feature set that it almost transcends toydom, and that’s when its limitations are exposed. You start wishing for smoother video and a bit more resilience when flying outside. A cut-price Spark, then, this is not. But I’m not knocking it down for that. The Ryze Tello is for anyone who likes the idea of flying a drone, but isn’t willing to lump up the big bucks just yet. The most fun drone ever? That might be a bit of a stretch, but I had a hell of a time with it.

HD video recording; EZ Shots are a fun introduction to drone-tography; It does somersaults! ; Packed with advanced flight tech; Very easy to control;

Infrequent but annoying technical hiccups; Framerate issues with quick movements ; Only usable outside when it’s windless; Feels a bit delicate;

Excellent Intro to drones

It's really fun, you can fly the thing without any training. i got one because i wanted a drone, but didn't want to spend £1000 to find out i didn't REALLY want one. Also, i'll let the kids use this one :) Within 5 minutes of flying, i knew i wanted a Mavic.

Great Features; Lightweight; Simple Controls

Low-Quality Recordings

Enjoy it! Program it!

An excellent little drone that is fun to fly and easy to program. I bought the drone to teach myself how to control it through programming and, thanks to the internet, found communities of developers who have done just that!

Tuff little toy that's FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

First off, be clear, the Tello is a TOY and should in no way be considered anything more. The Tello can be so much fun and is well suited for young children, seniors, experienced UAV pilots and anyone else who is even remotely interested in what the whole drone thing is about.

Fun little drone

I bought the Tello a couple of weeks ago, and my son and I have had lots of fun with it. Camera is ok for looking and getting s different perspective, but it's no comparison to what phone cameras can do these days. Camera doesn't perform very well in low light.

Ryze Tello

The Ryze Tello isn't for serious video work or long-distance flight, but that's okay. There are plenty of capable, and more expensive, drones out there that scratch that itch, such as the DJI Mavic Air.

Inexpensive; Easy to fly; Programmable via Scratch; Bluetooth remote control compatibility; Automated flight modes

Pixelated, low-quality video; Limited control range; No GPS or return-to-home capability
