Read a game review of Atari's RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 PC video game!
The RollerCoaster Tycoon series has proven remarkably popular over the years, despite average graphics and a slightly clunky interface. RCT2 disappointed many fans, but the loyal Tycoon community continued to share new scenarios and rides while waiting for the Holy Grail to turn up.
I agree to the last review.. I have the newest computer on the market (well, xp superprocessor) and it goes slow for me too if I use sandbox for example and put too much in the park..
When Rorschach reviewed RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 , he joked that he thought maybe somebody had slipped him RollerCoaster Tycoon instead, because the sequel looked and played so much like the original.
Making a sequel to a hit game is tricky business. If you simply rehash the original, fans will complain that it's more of the same. But if you change too much, you risk losing what made the original special. The RollerCoaster Tycoon series stands as good evidence of these potential pitfalls.
Beautiful 3D graphics come alive; Plenty of built-in content; Virtually ride all the rides; Build your own fireworks show
Serious bugs affect gameplay; Big parks can slow performance
It's not often that a popular game can make the leap in to a fully 3D world - usually a vital aspect such as gameplay gets missed out, with the likes of Lemmings 3D being one candidate that we'd really rather forget.
Overall it's a good sequel that looks impressive. Veterans of the series will probably have been expecting more to have been changed though.
-Too many tutorials that are too short
+Design Rides; Buildings; Peeps(people
-UI could use work
A massive world of possibilities Pretty much every gamer is familiar or at least has heard of the Roller Coaster Tycoon franchise. The first one practically revolutionized the way simulations had been thought of before, and contributed to spawning countless other "tycoons" titles.
Enormous possibilities let you practically build the theme park of your dreams; Interesting and challenging scenarios; Ride your own coasters
Goofy building tools make some tasks almost impossible; Still lacks the presence of game stands; Tacky default music
