RiME was originally released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in May of 2017. Unfortunately, the Switch port is very poorly optimized with a noticeable graphical downgrade and frequent frame rate drops.

Great game, kind of reminds me of Zelda.

Rime is a visually and audibly stunning game with painting-like art work, compassionate storyline and unique compared to games you see all to often. If BoTW and general exploration/puzzle games are your thing then you'll enjoy this.

In our original review of RiME (which you can read below this one), we described it as a potential masterpiece. Unfortunately, for players picking it up on the Switch, it will be incredibly hard to see why. This is an incredibly shoddy port.

For a game that leans so heavily on its visuals in order to tell its story, Rime for the Switch needed to be a real beauty. And when playing docked, Rime really does look the part, with the colours bursting from the screen. However, when playing in handheld mode, the visuals take a dive.
