Reolink RLC-510A

An update to my previous review ...

Despite reporting that the RLC-510A was easy to set up in Blue Iris 4 using ONVIF, I soon found out that it could not record video for very long without the video stream becoming severely-deteriorated. In its own web-based interface it seems to work fine. It turns out that there is a firmware update on the Reolink website download page from only last month, April 2022, that seems to fix this using an added setting called "interframe space", however several features have been deleted or no longer work such as ONVIF, WDR and backlight compensation! Well-made, good image quality and very easy to set up.

I only had to plug this aluminium-body camera into a POE port and press "search for ONVIF camera" in Blue Iris. It worked perfectly first time and has an optional web-based interface for detailed set-up, as you'd expect with any general purpose IP camera. The packaging is well designed and comes with everything you need to get up and running. My only regret is not buying more while they were on sale.

It just worked

I run QVR-Pro on a QNAP NAS TS-453A and this is my fourth camera (first Reolink camera). I plugged this in and it just worked. The 5MP delivers excellent resolution with good wide angle, great info-red night vision and picks up sound well too. I’ll be back for one or two more! Great value.

does the job well

I’ve had the camera installed for a month and am very satisfied with the performance - need for a web subscription, the phone app is very good and the built in AI function works well if you turn sensitivity down a bit. Requires the purchase of a PoE injector to power the camera over ethernet.
