ReCore Review – Old School Action, Old School Load Times

When Microsoft unveiled ReCore to gamers at E3 2015, it instantly drew attention with a moving tease featuring a young wanderer and her robotic dog companion, followed by the revelation that Keiji Inafune (Mega Man) and Armature Studios (made up of former Metroid Prime developers) would be...

Fun combat; Challenging platforming; Customizeable corebots; Good music

Long load times; Minor bugs; Unstable framerate

ReCore Review

I don't want to live in a world where a collaboration between the director of Metroid Prime and the co-creator of Mega Man turns out this poorly. Although neither men have (to put it charitably) produced their best work in recent years, Mark Pacini and Keiji Inafune are still gods among developers,...

Flinging Joule around with the spider bot

A marathon of poor design choices in the endgame

Recore

Its a while since a decent platformer has come along. Recore is a fun game with great graphics. However it is beset with glitches, poor loading times (dreadful). A great game to rent. Not serious at all no guides or walkthroughs needed

Potential and wasted energy

Has some high points, but soon gave way to glaring faults. Not the worst game, but is difficult to recommend.

ReCore

'ReCore' is set in a lonesome future where humanity has managed to kill off the Earth. The remnants of our species head out to another planet and go into cryosleep in orbit while robots terraform the surface below, a process expected to take two centuries.

ReCore Review

ReCore has been a highly anticipated Xbox One release ever since its initial unveiling at E3. The game looked great, with a cinematic trailer that promised

Interesting and enjoyable characters; Engaging world; Old school gameplay

Abysmal loading times; Assorted technical issues; Roadblocks galore

ReCore is a solid foundation for a pretty broken game. If you picked up the lead character and dropped her into a totally different world the game would probably play brilliantly. However, the bugs and bad pacing in the late game really hold back ReCore from excellence.

Great Controls; Fun Combat

Poor Pacing; Bugs; Bugs; Bugs

ReCore review [Xbox One]: more like ReBore

Microsoft's latest "Windows 10 and Xbox One" exclusive, ReCore , is a title that not only showed promise, but one that had gamers salivating when it first appeared at E3 2015. The final product is anything but a steaming pile of garbage.

Review: ReCore (Xbox One)

Comcept and Armature Studio whisked up a sizeable following when they debuted ReCore at E3 2015, only to wind up with mixed reactions at this year's convention. Those who walked away were sour over how the actual gameplay looked, and those sentiments only wound up proven at launch.

ReCore

There is a beauty to ReCore's vast world. You feel at first your are alone in this world with a giant task placed at your feet. But then you hear a synthetic barking noise next to you and you realize your best friend is along with you for the ride.

Very fun combat; platforming is quite challenging; the world of Far Eden looks massive and spectacular; well put together dungeons

Uneven level-up system; invisible walls lead to instant deaths; restart-causing technical issues; long load times; backtracking halts progression
