ReCore Review

There's something to be said for taking your influences seriously. If you're going to honour a thing that already exists, pay homage to it or, as is sometimes the case, straight-up borrow from it

Large world with lots to do; Metroidvania mechanic is well implemented; Often looks lovely

Combat can feel repetitive; Riddled with technical issues; Not all that deep

ReCore Review

I didn't expect to be quite as big as it is, and from the looks of things, it's possible its developers didn't either. Its world, while interesting to explore for a good while, is ultimately too big with too little happening in it to be a totally serviceable housing for the strong combat and...

ReCore

There is a beauty to ReCore's vast world. You feel at first your are alone in this world with a giant task placed at your feet. But then you hear a synthetic barking noise next to you and you realize your best friend is along with you for the ride.

Very fun combat; platforming is quite challenging; the world of Far Eden looks massive and spectacular; well put together dungeons

Uneven level-up system; invisible walls lead to instant deaths; restart-causing technical issues; long load times; backtracking halts progression

ReCore

The main premise of Comcept's new game, ReCore , is that its protagonist, a terraforming specialist named Joule, is stranded on the desert planet of Far Eden as part of a recolonization effort to escape a now-biohazardous Earth.

ReCore

ReCore isn't weighed down with baggage but that might leave it feeling a little thin around the edges. Lasers and robot friends!

Recore

What happens when key talents behind the Metroid Prime series, the creator of Mega Man, and the writer and director of Halo and Destiny cinematics all join forces to start a massive game project? The answer: you get Recore .

Recore review

A shame, as there's much to enjoy about Recore, an unpretentious throwback to a different age that's got a spark and character that's entirely its own. Scratch away at its slightly flakey surface and you can see all that enviable legacy of its developers crashing together in surprising, often...
