At around the one hundred-pounds mark, any keyboard worth its keys is likely to be equipped with mechanical switches. Razer isn't ignorant of this fact, and the Ornata Chroma addresses the issue with an unusual take on key actuation.

Razer Ornata Chroma Review

There's a reason you don't see many top-notch budget gaming keyboards: In order to check the right boxes and hit the necessary price point, manufacturers must either sacrifice features for the typing experience or the typing experience for features. To get both, you typically have had to go with something high-end (and much more expensive), like our Editors' Choice, the Corsair K95 RGB ( at Amazon) . But thanks to an innovative new switch, Razer gives you the best (or at least most of the best) of both the gaming and typing worlds in the Ornata Chroma, which costs just $99.99. It's our Editors' Choice for low-cost gaming keyboards. Features and Design What's Razer's secret with the Ornata Chroma? Switches that combine the, uh, key features of the predominant typing technologies in the consumer keyboard market. Razer calls the technology "Mecha-Membrane," and it's just what it sounds like: part its own proprietary mechanical switch, part silicone dome. When you hit a key, the mech...

With a unique new switch design and a compellingly low price, the Razer Ornata Chroma is both an outstanding gaming keyboard and a terrific value.

Attractively priced; Fine typing experience for any application

Limited features; Some adjustment may be required

Space Bar is hard to press

Its a great membrane keyboard, really feels mechanical but a few little problems some of the keys sound and feel different to others (Like most cheap chinese mechanical keyboards) The space bar is really hard to press since its just a single switch like the other keys but right in the middle of the...

"Blackwidow- Is it seriously worth it?"

Razer is a company that specializes in gaming peripherals and gear. Today, I will be reviewing a recent purchase of mine, the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard 2013 (T1).

Sleek; Ergonomic Design; Responsive; Aesthetically good looking and Convenient

Quite Expensive; Sensitive (To people who haven't use a mechanical keyboard before)

Is ok, not great

Key board is about what you expect, but the mouse feels like a 2$ dollar-store special The set is not worth 50$ maybe 25$ at best

:Keyboard is quiet and smooth :leds are decent :about what i expected for the price :My son likes it

:mouse feels cheap :dpi changes are useless :you need to press 2 buttons at the same time to get it to change thereby releasing your grip on the mouse :Defiantly not on the fly dpi changes No software Cant change mouse color to color cycle like the keyboard we both hate it

Superb Keyboard. Razer, best in class.

Love the keyboard. The illumination is very strong and the keys feel ultra good. The wrist rest is amazing and very very comfortable but its magnetic and not screwed to the keyboard.

Great keyboard, very comfortable

As a person who has had a laptop for most of their adult life and now has a PC i really like this keyboard. It is smooth, quick, and has a great feel to it. The mecha-membrane keys feel great and I like their click noise and feel. Great for working from home or playing a game!

Exactly what i was looking for

i needed a keyboard for my laptop that lights up so i can type/work in the dark, and this does that with 7 different color options. i also like the clickey-type keyboard. works very well and i enjoy using it

Really nice keyboard

I have to admit being a little hesitant about buying another Razer product after a mouse of theirs lasted less than a week. That said this keyboard was something I liked the look of and after destroying my old MadKatz with a glass of wine I took the plunge.
