Rayman Legends – Review (360, PS3, Wii U)

There are times in a consoles life, normally towards the end of a consoles cycle that a game or two come along that either revolutionise the way a genre is looked upon, reinvents the wheel and pretty much nails a genre to perfection or develops into something so magnificent you ask yourself why this...

Rayman Legends

I want to start my review with an interesting perspective. If you have Rayman Legends on the Xbox 360, Personal Computer, Playstation 3, or Wii U then you are probably not going to be interested in it on the Xbox One or Playstation 4.

Rayman Legends

If two-dimensional platformers are gaming purity, then Rayman Legends is natural bliss. A genre so entrenched in console gaming's history should have seen it all, but Rayman Legends' resolution to constantly generate new ideas demands to be entertained.

Rayman Legends (Wii U)

Rayman, Globox and the Teensies are sleeping yet again, this time for a century.  During their slumber the Bubble Dreamer's nightmares have started to invade their world.  You must arise and reclaim your world one painting at a time.

Great cooperative gameplay and utilization of the Wii U gamepad

Poor AI for single-player

Rayman Legends

2D platformers have enjoyed a sort-of renaissance period over the past ten years, supported by indie developers and Nintendo alike, but it is the relaunched Rayman series that has most adeptly combined the production value of the crimson plumber's exploits with the inventiveness and...

Fantastic soundtrack; Great co-op; Immaculate level design; Plenty to do

Some A.I; issues in single-player

Rayman Legends Review

One of my most controversial opinions of this gaming generation – certainly the one that has led to the most accusations that I simply do not possess a soul – is my claim that Rayman Origins wasn't all that great.

Did you know ducks could wall-jump? Well, maybe not all ducks. But fowl sprouting the head of a certain limbless hero definitely can. Rayman Legends is unabashedly weird, though never to the detriment of its fantastic action sequences.

Satisfying and diverse platforming challenges; Impressively detailed; gorgeous artistic design; Tons of excellent stages to unlock; Precise and smooth controls; Chaotic and enjoyable multiplayer

Murfy stages are dull

is a wormhole, whisking Wii U owners back to November 2012 and a time when Wii U: The Incredible Promise had yet to make way for Wii U: The One Third Parties Don't Like Any More. Do you remember those halcyon days, when we sat on riverbanks composing romantic odes to asymmetric multiplayer?

Review: Rayman Legends delivers essential platforming shenanigans

An absolute joy to play - challenging, amusing and very, very French. Essential platforming shenanigans, and one of those rarest of beasts - a third-party game best experienced on Wii U.

Supremely funny and confident platformer with terrific art direction; Structure offers constant incentives and boggling variety; Ooh; nearly forgot - the Kung Foot mini-game is a bit special; too

A tough game; but one which doesn't offer much penalty for death

A new star in town – Rayman Legends review

Platformers are a dime a dozen. For a new title to stand out in an ocean of them is an arduous task, and the ones that do are quickly thrust into the shadows of a certain plucky plumber and his brother. But there's a new star in town, folks.

Impeccable presentation; Perfect pacing encourages "just one more; Fantastic use of Wii U tablet controller; Tons of unlockable content

It ends; It's not free
