Rayman Legends is a "hey, come in here and look at this!" game. It constantly surprises and delights. It coaxes forth smiles. It's alive and generous, full of movement and joy and landscapes like paintings instead of landscapes like videogames.

Back in the days when arcade machines were synonymous with gaming rather than gambling, a simple way for developers to see if they had a hit on their hands was to put it on test in a local arcade. If a player died repeatedly yet still continued to put money into the machine it was a very good sign.

There are games that appear every now and then that may wow you.  You start them up, and within the first few levels you're already thinking to yourself ‘Yes! THIS is a game!' and from there on in it only gets better, and the love affair grows stronger until it is all consuming.

If you like platformers, I doubt you have a lot to complain about over the last generation. The combination of great games from major franchises and introductions to new awesome indie games has made the platforming fanbase well-satiated.

Overall, is THE platformer to play on the Wii U and Vita, and one of the best ones in general right now to check out. Besides a few minor inconveniences, the polish put into the game really shows through on the levels. Definitely check this out to see what platforming at its finest looks like.
