Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus walks a narrow line as a sequel. It feels like you expect a Ratchet and Clank game to feel with the same exceptional weapons, enticing upgrades, and charming characters. Yet Into the Nexus also constantly surprises with a ton of new ideas that are never overused.

For a budget price you get to spend some quality pre-PS4 time saying goodbye to the last generation – and indeed Insomniac themselves where Sony are concerned – with a perfect encapsulation of what made Ratchet & Clank one of the company's notable first party success stories.

The final Ratchet & Clank game on PS3 evokes the magic of the early games, but what does it imply for the future of the series?
