[As Originally Written on SNo2 .] Arkane recently released their 1.02 Patch for Prey and with that decisive patch I've deemed it appropriate to finally present my review of the game in earnest.

If I asked you to make NBA Jam , there's a better than good chance NBA Playgrounds would be the end result. But, as much as it looks, sounds, and acts like a duck, it is missing the intrinsic qualities that make it a duck. For the most part, NBA Playgrounds is a polished game.

Prey's curious alternate-history universe, intriguing sidequests, hidden threats, and detailed environmental storytelling make Talos I a joy to explore. The unsettling sense of paranoia that comes from knowing any object could turn out to be a hidden enemy gives even the quiet moments a palpable...

I sat there, probably for a good 10 minutes, making my final decision of Prey. A somewhat unexpected development, though not wholly unseen, given the hints the game has dropped since I stepped into the Talos I space suit of Morgan Yu.

Prey is another of my first person shooter games. I like shooter games. I find them therapeutic. I will not tell my future NHS boss of this obsession though. Shooting things in the head is not an ideal reference for a doctor.

good level of difficulty and hours of game play. good value for money.

great game with some decent story mode

Despite its issues, which should be addressed in short order, Prey is a stunning gem. Not since the venerable System Shock 2 has there been an immersive simulator that succeeds in everything it sets out to do. Talos-1 is masterful in both its construction and design.
