Good for the price

I received this through an open-box discount, so the pricing made it hard to pass up. It has a low profile and no obnoxious flashing lights or logos, which makes it discreet. I am an audio enthusiast, so I rate the sound quality as average.

Attractive Design; Compact; Easy To Set Up

Polk MagniFi Mini review: Mighty mini sound bar

If the prospect of a traditional home-theater setup with a half-dozen speakers and a bulky receiver doesn't thrill you, you may want to a consider a sound bar. These small speakers are discreet, easy to set up, and sound much better than your TV's speakers. And they don't come smaller or better-sounding for the money than the Polk MagniFi Mini.

The Polk MagniFi Mini's mix of features, performance and compact size makes it one of the best sound bars for the money.

The affordable Polk MagniFi Mini is capable of a much bigger sound than its minuscule size suggests; The package is compact and will fit easily into most living room setups; The ability to Cast directly from your phone simplifies music streaming.

The Wi-Fi connection on my test unit was unreliable; and the ARC-only HDMI input limits connectivity somewhat.

Polk MagniFi Mini review

A small soundbar that needs a bit of refining before it can be a big fish in this particularly crowded pond

Good agility; Big bass; Spacious sound

Could be more insightful; Boxy midrange

Polk MagniFi Mini Review

Once the bastion of space-saving home cinema, it seems that even the trusty soundbar has become too imposing for some living rooms. As a result, there's a growing demand for compact soundbars that deliver room-filling audio from even smaller boxes.

Compact design; Big room-filing sound; Generous features; Easy to set up and use

Muddy mid-range and unrefined treble; Bass could be tighter; Voice Adjust doesn't suit music playback

Perhaps that's why Polk's MagniFi Mini soundbar might catch your eye as you peruse the many soundbar options available for $200 to $300. It doesn't really look like soundbar at all. To my eye, the MagniFi Mini looks more like a Bluetooth speaker--and technically, it is a Bluetooth speaker.

Polk MagniFi Mini Soundbar System Review

Why is it that every year, TVs seem to get bigger while speakers seem to get smaller Back when Stereo Review became Sound & Vision, a nice home theater had a 34-inch tube TV and a decent 5.1channel surround sound system with floorstanding tower speakers.

Big sound from a tiny speaker; Carefully voiced with neutral tonal balance

No HDMI video passthrough; Sub's performance limited by its small size

Polk Audio Magnifi Mini: Small package, BIG sound

Still, if you absolutely must have a soundbar with a subwoofer, the Polk Magnifi Mini offers a good alternative to all-in-one units such as the Q Acoustics M3 and it offers more flexibility and features and better-sounding bass than the Creative Katana soundbar.

Wide soundstage; Deep bass from a wireless subwoofer; Google Cast compatibility

High price; Mids and highs lack warmth

Polk MagniFi Mini review: Impressive sound in a compact and versatile Chromecast soundbar

I've rarely reviewed a product that has impressed me as much as the MagniFi Mini. I always find something to nitpick on, things that are missing, features that don't work well, but the Mini left me scratching my head.

Size At 13.4" (34cm) wide; the MagniFi Mini is one of the most compact soundbars there is and fits easily in many cramped places; Sound Despite the size; the sound this little unit provides is clear; and powerful; and engulfing; Versatility The plethora of input methods and audio modes means the...

2.1 channels If we're nitpicking, and I really am here, I'd prefer a 5.1 channel system; But that would require a larger size which defeats the whole point of the Mini

Powerful when it needs to be powerful.

Great sound. comes on automatically. Woofer is a bit ugly - best hidden in a cabinet as I do with mine but the rest is pretty smart. Love the sound - powerful when it needs to be powerful. Not just loads of bass - bass when bass is due.
