They aren't called Sense for nothing, you know

Plantronics' BackBeat Sense headphones have a lightweight over-the-head design with soft cushions that can sit on your ears without crushing them. They are Bluetooth headphones that are simple to operate, they sound good, and you can use them with a cord if you find yourself running low on battery.

Comfortable; Good sound; Steady Bluetooth performance

Sensors sometimes unreliable

Plantronics BackBeat SENSE Review – Smarter Bluetooth headphones

You're spoiled for choice right now with wireless headphones, but Plantronics is hoping the new BackBeat SENSE can slot in with a mixture of clever tech and everyday flexibility. Lightweight and quietly handsome, they may not have in-your-face branding of some rivals, but they come from a company...

Plantronics BackBeat Sense

Plantronics is better known for its Bluetooth headsets than for its headphones, but the company has made some strides in the field of gear intended primarily for listening to music and not talking to people.

Incredibly light, comfortable design; Good selection of accessories; Very good sound quality with powerful lows

Balance emphasizes lows and highs at slight expense to high-mids; Canvas carrying pouch is a little awkward to use

Plantronics BackBeat Sense review: An on-ear wireless Bluetooth headphone done right

Plantronics isn't going to fool anybody into thinking it's Beats, but over the years the company -- best known for monaural headsets of the wireless and business/call center variety -- has been creeping into mainstream consumer headphones market and putting out some very respectable products,...

The Plantronics BackBeat Sense is a lightweight; comfortable on-ear wireless headphone that delivers very good sound for Bluetooth and has a strong feature set; with dual microphones and a sensor that knows when you have the headphones on or off.

Low-end may not be strong enough for those looking for fatter bass

Clearly, there are dramatic differences between this and the BackBeat Pro, but in the long run, it’s aiming to strike a balance between portability, performance, and cost. /124260794/.2_6924.3_phonearena.com_tier1 Packaging contains:Plantronics BackBeat SenseTravel casemicroUSB cable3.5mm stereo cableFor your safety guideWarranty informationDesignCall it the mini-version of the BackBeat Pro, as the BackBea...

Plantronics BackBeat Sense review: An on-ear wireless Bluetooth headphone done right

Plantronics isn't going to fool anybody into thinking it's Beats, but over the years the company -- best known for monaural headsets of the wireless and business/call center variety -- has been creeping into mainstream consumer headphones market and putting out some very respectable products, particularly in the Bluetooth realm.

At less than $200 USD, the well-designed Plantronics BackBeat Sense is one of the best on-ear wireless Bluetooth headphones currently available.

The Plantronics BackBeat Sense is a lightweight, comfortable on-ear wireless headphone that delivers very good sound for Bluetooth and has a strong feature set, with dual microphones and a sensor that knows when you have the headphones on or off; Battery life is good and the headphone works well as a headset for making calls; The included carrying case is nice.

Low-end may not be strong enough for those looking for fatter bass.

Plantronics has been in the game since man first landed on the moon. In fact, those famous words by Neil Armstrong after he became the first man to walk on the moon – "one small step for man – one giant leap for mankind" were actually spoken through a Plantronics headset.

Although the audio quality may not be the fullest-sounding around, the u-shaped curve, clarity, dynamic range, and low levels of distortion deliver a superb and enjoyable experience. The BackBeat Sense does transmit touch-related noise through its frame, and the isolation is only ok.
