In love with this camera

All around this is a great camera - compact, light, fashionable, cutting edge, and takes quality photos. I am pretty impressed. The remote control function over wifi is really neat and you can upload photos to your phone without an USB cable. Highly recommend this camera model!

Panasonic's GF7 combines two of the most popular camera trends worldwide: small cameras and selfies. While that might seem a little desperate, Panasonic isn't sacrificing much to accomplish those goals, pulling no punches in the performance department.

Panasonic GF7

The little Panasonic GF7 packs a lot of performance into a small, lightweight and easy to use package. It may be billed as an entry-level camera and comes in at an affordable, entry-level price, but the GF7 offers a lot of camera for the money.

Very good image quality for its size; Fast AF for its class; 10fps burst mode with electronic shutter; Lightweight, yet well-built, compact design; Great value for the money

Continuous AF is not reliable; Shallow buffer with RAW; Below average battery life; No EVF; Maximum mechanical shutter speed of only 1/500s

I just bought GF7 and found that the camera cannot change Region from PAL to NTSC Then GF7 cannot change frame rate from 25/50 to 30/60. This is very disappointed. Then you cannot mix footage from GF7 PAL Region into other footage which is 30/60fps.

Great Camera

My primary goal in purchasing a new camera was fast autofocus, smallish size, and a significant improvement in picture quality vs my old faithful LX5. The cameras I also considered were the Sony RX100 and a5100. My LX5 just cant keep up with motion very well.

small (for an interchangable lens camea) good access to all controls with the touch screen wifi works well flip screenit's useful for more than just selfies good low light af performance good af performance everywhere else too super fast burst speed (with electronic shutter) silent mode can take...

flash does not work in e-shutter mode flash switch could be fiddley for some

Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF7

The micro four-thirds camera market has matured greatly since the standard was launched seven years ago by Olympus and Panasonic. Starting the first Pen cameras (Olympus) and the first G-series shooters (Panasonic), we've seen each successive model inching closer to the ideal promised by the new...

Small, light design with included lens makes the GF7 a suitable upgrade from point-and-shoot cameras; Intelligent Auto and solid scene modes make it simple to use for beginners; Bright, crisp display makes composing easy, even in direct sunlight

Small light design can be awkward with larger lenses (or if you have large hands); Tiny size means a small battery–buy an extra if you plan to shoot all day; Kit lens isn't great; Encourages selfies

Panasonic Lumix GF7 - A point-and-shoot with premium trimmings

High-end smartphones seem to trying their best to kill the point-and-shoot. Handset including the iPhone 6, LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6 all have amazing rear-facing cameras, and even cheaper devices are making big strides in image quality.

Great image quality; Small form factor; Interchangeable lenses

Clunky manual controls; No focus ring on included lens; Comparatively limited battery

Panasonic GF7

Dependable and feature-rich, but the Panasonic GF7 is beaten by cheaper rivals.

Panasonic Lumix GF7

The Panasonic Lumix GF7 is a very accessible compact system camera. After the Panasonic GF6 tried to inject a bit of enthusiast appeal into this entry-level CSC series, the 16-megapixel GF7 has its eye on a more mainstream audience.

Handy tilt screen; Decent image quality; Good AF

Poor battery life; Dodgy panorama mode; Faulty picture preview mode

Panasonic GF7 review

There's not much to fault about the GF7. It's petite, responsive and straightforward to use, includes some fun shooting modes and takes excellent photos and videos. The poor battery life is disappointing, but our biggest issue is the price.
